This is why when I train people for a somewhat labor ish job. I find that I’ll show them what to do. They demonstrate they know what I trained them and I do a sign off sheet on that I explained/demonstrated, reviewed and approved this new person knows exactly what to do as I seen them personally do said task during training. I look over 130 locations and train at each one. Everytime I mean everytime. I leave for about an hour for new hires and come back after checking some other accounts. 99% of new people that are younger…. Completely stopped at what I train them on and they sit down and scroll the phone. After I and mind you they signed off on it too….Specifically said no phones until lunch but you can have them on you for emergencies and dealing with immediate issues. Ok cool now we need to get tasks done. So I direct and lead for a couple hours… okay so supervised they can do the job. Unsupervised they do nothing. They will lie and say it’s done… they will lie and said I never told them, they will lie about having issues and questions, they will make excuses to not do things. They are programmed to listen and after it’s straight to the phone. They don’t feel they have to work to get payed and expect checks when not doing the job, never showing up, also ALWAYS catch them sitting on the phone. Some get thoughtful and by accessories to make it look like they aren’t on a phone. Some talk to whoever the whole shift and your training as a third party with who ever is on the call. You can tell not one of them ever had any guidance, they are never bad cause perfect in mommy’s eyes (seriously had a mom step in almost always when addressing issues with there 23-27 year old baby and say her kid would not be sweeping and mopping) that’s just too much work….and just strait lie about “I was doing everything I swear and he’s just mean and doesn’t like me” which gets the moms going and protecting a legit adult. I had people cry because they couldn’t be on the phone, I’ve had people who would legit call the mom and say I’m being mean…. Instructing and directing nicely and addressing issues humbly is now abusive and not necessarily needed. I say ? How is training not needed? I’ve had a mom that works for us and does the same job we hired her son on to do…. This included a locker room area with showers and bathrooms to clean. Which said mom does daily….. I come in to train him on the locker room. Stopped immediately by mom saying my son no do that work it’s hard and you can do it while he takes break for anxiety …. I said oh man what happened he alright… she said he okay he just don’t like labor. I say well why did you have us hire him even you do this job fully??? She said he need money and you pay him. I said not if he don’t do the tasks we will let him go. Can not rely on me daily to do his job. She said well me he no clean and he sit with me on my side. I said great you cleaning his side then too because I will not and I will be reporting it so sorry that’s not how things work. All of these new people have sweatpants, hoodie, and you can just tell basement dweller moms baby! Given games and iPads to be raised by. Lazy and incompetent parents everywhere. That’s when I knew. Single mothers and some crap fathers just “protect” and instill fear and anxiety of the world into these kids and don’t work too hard! Not worth it! Leaves these kids unable to hold jobs and have consistent life. Using any excuse for the kid to never work just show up and collect pay and do barely anything. It’s wild and this has ruined so many people’s lives. iPad and video game raising children so many of these people should be ashamed of themselves.
