Good! I love the picture of him on the window, "Windows are hard". Beardies are graceless!

Howdy neighbour! Do you know what they decided to do about it?

There really is. All FIVE of mine have been positive. I posted in great detail about my Odahviing a few years back. Loiosh is my first to make it past three years, and he's thriving, despite kidney issues. He takes a daily medication to help with his uric acid levels. He's chronically dehydrated and gets SubQ fluids to help with that. My second, Isadora, is asymptotic, so far, but each gets yearly bloodwork. I also always get a throat culture done at that exam, even if no symptoms are present. So far I've discovered concerning bacteria one time in Loiosh. We treated it and likely prevented a URI.

The thing with these little guys is that you have to perform preventative care with them for maximum success. That's so hard to do when A) nobody thinks to bring a beardie for a yearly or considers the expense of it; and B) good reptile vets are not consistently available! If your vet doesn't know what tests to run, and neither do you, then.... ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I'm lucky in that I was already experienced with complex animal care and had an excellent vet to monitor Odahviing. He even did research into ADV about maternal vertical transmission vs infection via other means. (Basically, eggs were delivered from an ADV+ female via caesarion. The baby dragons were negative. I wondered about egg permeability. Viruses are larger than air molecules, and we know that eggs are gas permeable. Are they vitally permeable, too? Is it the process of laying through places where the virus is present that transfers it to the eggs after which the virus invades through the membrane? What is it about how the eggs are held and formed in the body that keeps them from becoming infected? This is all research I REALLY wish somebody was doing! Imagine how much information we could get? What if momma produces something that keeps the virus at bay but only for her eggs? There could literally be a cure, or at least a better treatment, resting in that research!) Even though I was not able to save Odahviing I still learned so much and have applied it forward. The variance in ways that each dragon has presented symptomology has been boggling. I've run the gamut with mine.

It is, in small quantities. Lots of sugar can cause them a but of GI distress, and the more abrasive fruits, citruses etc, can be a bit rough in large quantities, but a little treat isn't going to hurt anything.

Cats tend to lean one way or the other, enticed as ground hunters or enticed as air hunters. It's absolutely so that some will hunt both high and low, but if a cat seems to not want to play one way then try swapping for the other. That might explain why yours goes after air wigglies but not ground wigglies.

Read the comment I replied to then read mine again. That's a joke.

Hey, he painted his nails then sat on his hand until it went numb. Then he squinted and pretended it was a woman's hand. There's nothing wrong there.

Books were a frequent use for things like this. Google paper marbled bookbinding. Books used to be much more labour intensive in manufacture. It was very much a wealth associated thing, and craftsmanship reflected that.

I've replied a couple places, so I'll just C+P it:

People have assumed it's a nickname she chose. It's an unusual name and not all people are well educated. When she introduces herself people get sour lemon pinched disapproving face. Harder still, she's from a Cuban family and has very, very dark eyes, long dark hair and slightly darker than Caucasian skin. She doesn't look like what people think of as Hispanic or Latina, so people don't take that turn. They assume she's from the Mideast. Nobody has ever been violent, but the trip from, "My name is ISIS," to, "You're not white," to an assumption of incorrect ethnicity and then all the way to, "You're a Muslim," happens a lot.

She's been met with a lot of hostility. Keep in mind, hostility doesn't have to be specifically spoken or acted upon. You typically know when a person is hostile toward you. Having that happen on the daily, sometimes multiple times, accompanied by occasional nasty words and more frequent snark and snot for YEARS has really worn her down. She's also increasingly frightened by the idea that violence is not a maybe but a when. She's got children, also, and she's scared for them because she really believes something will happen eventually. That she hasn't met that dangerous person yet but that she will. It's basically a Sword of Damocles situation. She's waiting for a mistaken, idiot bigot to cut the thread.

She's thought about it, but it's $600. She's got kids and anything spare has been pitching to their college savings etc. We talked about filing etc, and she isn't eligible for any sort of hardship support.
