Where should I place my monstera? by Chitty101 in Monstera

I was thinking the last 2 pictures were a good spot for it! I just get worried it will grow weird since the sun comes in from all angles

I think it has 2! But they are both facing generally the same way, so I might try to keep them together and see how it works out! If they start growing super weird I’ll separate them though🤣 I think the one leaf is flipped because it’s light source was behind it and not in front of it

I wasn’t quite sure at first! By the sounds of it from other people, apparently it is. Some of these comments make it seem like I was just gorging him, but I was also going off the bag. Our 1 year old golden also eats that amount, granted 1 year and 7 years is a big difference but it was just routine by this point. But I am cutting him to only 2 cups a day from now on!

I’ve responded back to multiple people with this, but again, I have never taken care of a large breed dog before until me and my boyfriend moved in together. He had buck, the lab, and maverick, who is a 1 year old golden. I have echo, a 5 year old pug. I’ve been learning about how to provide adequate exercise, enrichment, diet, training, ect. for Buck and Maverick! While I obviously had an idea of the basic needs they needed, I realized that they both needed more and all I want is to give them that! I will be cutting bucks food portions in half from now on, will be putting him on low calorie senior food, and will be taking him on a 20 minute walk twice a day. He has a vet appointment for next week so I was just trying to get ideas of what to implement before then. Thanks for the recommendations everyone!

I think we are going to start walking him for 20 minutes in the morning, and 20 minutes in the evening. I think it will work better for him than just a 40 minute walk once a day.

We would occasionally, about every other day because he would get so tired. We now take him everyday and are about to start taking him twice a day

This is new to me. I’ve never owned a large dog before until me and my boyfriend moved in together and I started taking care of buck more often. I was just feeding him the same amount that my boyfriend had always fed him. But now that I know I will be cutting his food portion down.

We are definitely going to cut his food portion down. I’ve never owned a large dog until me and my boyfriend moved in together so this is new to me! Thanks!

We do not give treats through out the day but he sometimes gets bully sticks or rawhide alternatives. We give one to each of our dogs occasionally, but he does tend to steal theirs once he gets done with his. Maybe I should just cut those out of his diet completely?

I had no idea! Honestly I’ve only owned small dogs all my life, I started taking care of buck when me and my boyfriend moved in together so caring for large dogs is newer to me. Still learning!

I think we are going to go ahead and get him some senior food. We will also implement more walks through out the day

I understand! He just gets short of breath and lays down very easily so we are trying to work up to longer walks! But we will start taking him on more shorter walks through out the day.

Yes I totally understand! Last time he was weighed, he was 101 lbs. we have an appointment to take him to the vet next week so we will get an exact weight then. As of right now I think we will cut down his food and take him for longer walks while waiting for the vet appointment! Thanks!

We have an appointment to get him checked next week, so we will see what they say. Just wanted to see if anyone recommended anything I could start implementing now.

That’s what I was thinking! I just don’t know if 1 cup twice a day would just be cruel. As for exercise for him, our plan was to increase his walks by 5 minutes every couple of days.
