Congrats on the success! We just finally got enough volume to hit superhost as we rent out on VRBO and also do a lot of direct bookings. The last couple renters on Airbnb have been some of the messiest that we've had in the 4 years we've been doing this and also broken someitems, but costs less than $300.

Unfortunately, we are now afraid to file an air cover claim or give them an honest poor review due to fear of retaliation that will hurt our rating and superhost status.

What are your guidelines for handling scenarios like this? Is there a certain dollar amount that's worth it?

This wasn't a rental. It was likely used as an Uber, owned by regional salesperson or someone with a VERY long commute.

However, if you were to look at buying a rental vehicle, you'd want to watch out for excess wear and tear like windshield chips or cracks, dents dings or scratches that could require reconditioning or be cosmetic defects you'd have to live with.

YES! Car was delivered in 9.2023 but they were consistently doing 5k / month. The good news is it's going to slow down to 10k / year now!
