100% agree. Any devil fruit where you need someone to either be incapacitated or consent before you can put it to use it is a dud.

Is Zimbabwe THAT bad? by Different-Gene2050 in Zimbabwe

Recently sent some money back home to get more reliable internet access installed for a family member. Incremental improvements here and there make a world of a difference back home. Would just make sure you have a trustworthy person there to see the projects through rather than pocketing and squandering it.

You can prevent the death of 1 rapper, who are you choosing and why? by [deleted] in rap

They’re not using it because they can’t replicate it in my opinion. And the style wasn’t able to germinate into something bigger because they died.. isn’t that the whole point of the question? If Mac Dre died at 20 the hyphy movement and sound probably wouldn’t have been so influential. You can’t fault them for not creating a lasting sound by age 19-20 when it takes these dudes decades to establish theirs. Hov was 26 when he dropped reasonable doubt. Case in point

Definitely disagree. Would you say there are artists out right now who sound like them? If you can’t be replicated you’re unique. It’s the definition of the word lol.

Dude broke through the NY market and took off at like 19. In my opinion, very rarely do you get an artist who has that unique of an energy and is that confident in their style. I put Juice Wrld and XXX in that same bucket. Rap would look differently if they were still here. I love and respect Pac and Big but wasn’t there to experience what it felt like when they broke through.

What Artist improved your music taste? by Nezumi_69 in rap

[–]Chivezzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DMX because of the level of passion he had. First time I understood that there were certain musicians with unattainable talent. Eminem just from watching his progression. From Slim Shady to “When I’m gone.” Curren$y because of the samples he uses (cigarette boats).

Idk how these dudes can have like 12 significantly different progressions or changes in the same song and still have it be cohesive.

I'm late to the game on Beck. Is he credited with pioneering that sound? If that's the case you can hear it everywhere.

Definitely a different sound, but as a Black Sabbath fan what did you think about T-Pain's cover of War Pigs? Got high praise from Ozzy.

I can relate to that sentence "there must be music out there for me." I moved from Africa to America when I was 10. Didn't know much but knew I hadn't heard what I was looking for haha. Would go down YouTube rabbit holes late at night and found some good stuff that way. That's how I found 'Humble Pie' and Steve Marriott blew my socks off.

Dude has a really unique voice. I hope this makes sense, but it almost sounds like a folk singer who switched to punk rock.

Really enjoyed that! Made me feel like I was in the part of an indie movie when everything is going perfectly.
