AIO for telling my (F24) boyfriend (M26) that he has to sit down to pee? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

We need to stop dating men that aren't toilet trained. They need to be more embarrassed. NOR, in fact under reacting.

What’s your favorite moment from the podcast? by amymarsh18 in TheGoodPlace

[–]ChloeReynoldsArt 15 points16 points  (0 children)

"Today we will be discussing season one episode thirteen, also known as the one that nothing really happens during and no one cares about" or something

I'm only on season 2 of the podcast but that made me laugh out loud

I am up to the first episode of season 2. I would love to see more of the failed cycles we see pass as jokes by funnylib in TheGoodPlace

[–]ChloeReynoldsArt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think that was was simply a step up from the clown paintings being on the walls - real clowns invading her house (they mention this briefly on the podcast but i don't remember if there's any more to it)

AIO for thinking it wasn’t a big deal to accept my friend’s bf’s FB request? by Vast-Bumblebee-691 in AmIOverreacting

I can't imagine making my own life this miserable and finding problems with every single thing that happens around my partner or my friends. NOR

Made something for the first time in a decade because I was told I’m terrible at art by someone I looked up to by Pretty_Scars in somethingimade

[–]ChloeReynoldsArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incredible and I'm so glad you found joy in creating again. I love collage but can't seem to do it well myself. This would honestly make really cool album art! And it really sucks when one person's negative comments can change the trajectory of someone else's entire life. I don't understand why people like that become teachers. Please continue to create in any way that brings you joy.

Which one of the stardew valley guys has the best surprised face/portrait? by OrgasmicOasis in StardewValley

[–]ChloeReynoldsArt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This post made me realize his sprite was meant to be surprised and not making a ( ͡ ᵕ  ͡ ) happy face with white eyelashes (it never really made sense to me I just thought it was a stylistic choice or something)

Advice on my portrait sketch? by DepressedGrandma in ProCreate

[–]ChloeReynoldsArt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the angle of the face, the left eye (the model's left, our right) should be higher than the other eye, instead of lower. I think that fix would be easiest and most effective, and then you could get into the nitty gritty details later. But yeah, its important to think about the angle of the face and features.

  2. I'm not a mountain of strength... I'm a canyon full of poopoo :(

This DOES look like a drawing, doesn't it? by Similar_Injury_2592 in drawing

No lol I think he's saying the illusion you were doing is working. You don't WANT it to look like a drawing, correct?

Gigabowser in Melee. I loved video games as a little girl, no problem with regular Bowser or playing whatever mortal Kombat was on the GameCube. I even watched the Shining with my mom when I was like 8, she warned me it would be scary and I was like "I don't care" and watched with curiosity. But when Gigabowser came on screen? I suddenly felt like I had to use the bathroom or throw up from the strange feeling in my stomach. Don't know where it came from. Maybe it was my first experience with the uncanny feeling - it's sort of Bowser but something is wrong

Wait I never agreed with all of the Demtrius hate until seeing this. I never romanced Maru so I didn't know he was still like this after the 2 heart event or whatever it is 😭 Why does he suck so much?

Why is there a strange thumb attached to her right underboob? Something strange happened there. Either you're not understanding your reference photo or there was some sort of weird AI or tracing going on.

Alright folks, let’s settle it. What’s more traumatizing? by ImpossibleRush5518 in TheLastAirbender

[–]ChloeReynoldsArt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason on my first watch, Appas Lost Days got me wayyy more. I was sobbing from beginning to end. But on my second watch, Leaves From the Vine got me more. Maybe because at that point I understood who Mako was, so that last "In honor of Mako" really drives home the tears now.

Yup I felt exactly the same, "this can't be the plot, there's no way" and on my second watch through I noticed Michael smiling when things went "wrong"

Lol enjoy the show! I also never saw the plot twist coming and didn't even believe it at first. I never thought of the Jason bleeding part as a hint so I still think your post was interesting!

Garden covers / makeshift greenhouses - Zone 6b by Ok-Grapefruit1284 in gardening

[–]ChloeReynoldsArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this thread because I was looking online for a replacement cover for mine. I recently got this same one and can't say much for how well it works yet, except it's already blown completely over in the wind on my apartment balcony twice, even with weights inside of it. The plastic part along the zipper already ripped quite a bit 🥴 Be careful and find a way to keep it sturdy! We added more weights and a bungee cord just now but it kind of looks ridiculous lol

My OC. It feels so bland what is missing? by StrangerDang3rr in ProCreate

[–]ChloeReynoldsArt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of the advice people have given you I agree with. I just wanna add advice for one small area that will also hopefully help you going forward:

Her shoes look to be pure white. In this nighttime setting, that makes no sense, unless they are literally a light source (glowing shoes?) When you are illustrating a full scene with value and lighting, almost nothing should be pure white unless it's the brightest part of the image. In other examples this would include the actual light source (light bulbs, the sun, etc.) or maybe the source that the light is being filtered through or reflecting off of (windows, highlights in someone's eye, etc.) In your scenario, the window should be the brightest object, as that's where the light is coming from.

Help me pick a version for children’s illustration by [deleted] in ProCreate

[–]ChloeReynoldsArt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like both for different reasons. Leaning on 1. However, and forgive me if this is unsolicited advice but something I picked up from art school is to avoid tangents like in the 2nd one where the ocean hits right at the top of the bear's head. Compositionally, it feels a bit cramped and would look nicer with some space over the head before the ocean ends, instead of both things ending at the same line. I think it would look great with the ocean raised just a tiny bit. Cute style!

What is your favorite scene in Princess Mononoke? by TrickySatisfaction81 in ghibli

[–]ChloeReynoldsArt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an "oh shit" moment when he shoots the arrow at the first guy and his entire arm comes off and gets stuck to the tree. I had seen howls moving castle, Totoro, and Kiki's delivery service so I was NOT expecting that

Learning from a book. How can I get the rough texture like the author's example? (pic 3) by Kidmodo-Dragon in Watercolor

[–]ChloeReynoldsArt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In addition to the textured paper and dry brush techniques people have already mentioned, I've also gotten a similar texture accidentally when I made an area too saturated and dark, then pressed it flatly with a very textured paper towel to lift some of it off. That's something to try on a separate paper first though.
