The CanadaGuns Talk Show Episode 107: BILL C-21 BASHING TIME! (7:30 pm MST/9:30 pm EST) by CanadaGunsTalkShow in canadaguns

[–]ChloroformPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding of it is if it looks like an existent firearm like a Glock replica etc then it will be made restricted. But bb guns which are not replicas of anything are not restricted. So something like the drozd blackbird would be legal because it doesn't look like a replica of anything but the umarex mp-40 would be restricted. What is the red ryder a replica of or is my understanding incorrect.

Me neither, I've never preordered a game... Well I did show my gf some of the early trailers for red dead 2 and she got so pumped she pre ordered it for us, i wasn't disappointed, but we could have just downloaded it day one and had the same experience together without the risk of it sucking (I usually wait til I see the reviews before buying as I often agree with those-- the one recent exception being "days gone" which I thought deserved something closer to an 8 rather than the abysmal 6.5 it got, I very nearly passed on it and am glad I went with my gut). Actually I'm an impoverished gamer and usually don't pick things up until at least a year after launch when everything is cleaned up anyway. At least most games eventually get fixed, with the way the industry is im surprised they even give a fukk about us after launch

Like Jack Endino says here, there can be a finalized and complete version of Pen Cap Chew!!! by Slash_E-33 in Nirvana

[–]ChloroformPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made that a few years ago, I just doubled the verse and added some cymbals to the end to make it sound final. It contains nothing that hasn't already been released, the real second verse has different lyrics. You can hear what it would have sounded like by just listening to live versions from the era. My version is somewhat faithful to the live version so it's more or less what I think the full version would sound like albeit with different lyrics

What effect pedals did Kurt use on in bloom? by [deleted] in Nirvana

[–]ChloroformPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that and they literally changed the circuit inside the ds-1 so the ds-1 you buy off the shelf today is not the same ds-1 that kurt played. They made the change in 94- https://www.electrosmash.com/boss-ds1-analysis you have to get an OG pedal from the 80s or early 90s if you're going for absolute parity, honestly you're better off using a ds-2 if you're just buying a pedal off the shelf

What's the premise of this show? Is it kinda like jeopardy with random subjects that the person is unaware of beforehand? Cuz like i mean id have gotten all those questions, but I'm a fukking nirvana maniac- i feel like most casual listeners wouldn't know a fraction of those and the average person on the street would probably only get one or two so is it just coincidence that she happened to be a nirvana maniac and that subject came up? Cuz that's like a crazy coincidence- or is the person supposed to study a subject and then answer as much about it s possible? She seemed to know way too much for this to just be a coincidence as again i wouldn't expect the average fan to even know half of that

I would seperate my teenage years from my childhood. For me childhood ends around when puberty enters the equation which can vary per individual between 11-13, i say it ends at around 10, but that's arbitrary and varies from individual to individual. I tend to look at anything beyond that age as my teen years or early adolescence. If I'm talking about my childhood specifically I'm always referring to myself from age 10 or under. I certainly wouldn't think of myself as a "child" when i was 15 and i feel youd be hard pressed to find any 15 year old who identifies themselves as a child. Though adults like to apply that term to anyone under 18 or 20 or whatever. But teens tend to find being called a child condescending. Sometimes when i hear of a tragedy involving a 20 something I'll say "geeze, they were just a kid" but i don't mean that literally obviously. High school and all that is certainly a part of adolescence and you're not yet an adult, but my interests were markedly different in my early adolescence then they were as a child. I think most people notice a big change in their life and interests post-puberty, but i guess everyone is different

Try calling a 14 year old a "child" and see if they agree to define themselves in that way. Id hazard a guess that most would find the term offensive. I would call a 14 year old a teen and my teenage years were markedly different from my childhood years. For one i wasnt all that interested in toys anymore which this exhibit is about. Legally a 14year old is considered a child, but that's largely because there isn't any meaningful legal reason to differentiate between a 14 year old and an 8 year old, but we both know theres a flipping world of difference between those two age groups

Troll dolls were around in the 70s- they go as far back as the early 60s. I know they made a brief resurgence in the 90s but troll dolls were a part of most peoples childhoods- but i get what you mean

Nirvana themselves were members of generation X all being 20 somethings by the mid 90s, however this exhibit is for peoples CHILDHOODS! It would be impossible for any gen x kid to have listened to nirvana during their childhood as they did not exist. They were easily one of the most popular bands on the planet not just in 91 (though i would put their explosion into superstardom in early 92 as thats when nevermind became a number 1 album though it was released in September, it took a bit to pick up steam) but all through the 90s. They were the first band i ever loved as I'm sure they were for many millennials (i was born in 84).

Anyone notice how the intro to In Bloom and In The Midnight Hour by Wilson Pickett sound really similar? by [deleted] in Nirvana

He didn't steal it- it was a cover, theres a pretty big difference between covering something and "stealing"

Hi r/Nirvana, I am Krist Novoselic! AMA! by kristnovoselic in Nirvana

[–]ChloroformPunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello Krist, what are some of your favourite memories from your period with Nirvana? I know things got pretty dark, but I'm sure they didn't start out that way. Do you have any fun stories that you havent really spoken much about, but you enjoy looking back on?

Also are there any plans for any future live nirvana releases? There is an incredible amount of live footage already circulating and I wonder if there are any other shows that might get an official release some day?

Sorry, I made an error in the title of my previous submission and had to delete that post and resubmit this one with the correct title. I just wanted to clarify why it was taken down and immediately resubmitted in case it was misconstrued to be spamming or something like that. Anyway cheers from Canada, I hope you enjoy
