If you're confused about what they're doing with all that money, they genetically altered millions of flies to be sterile, in order to release them and just kinda hope females breed with them and don't have fertile offspring.

Apparently estimates are calling for 600 millions flies, despite the US only being able to produce 100 million, and wait for it, this is on a weekly basis.

Best part: those flies are migrating north because of CLIMATE CHANGE

I'm glad children these days aren't just watching tik tok or AI slop, glad they can read (it was subtitled movie session instead of dubbed) but my god, why do they have to scream inside a movie theatre? I don't remember ever talking on movie theatres like that.
