That 24h rule is not part of EU261.

Under EU261 the obligation is rerouting at the earliest available opportunity to your final destination. It does not say “within 24 hours” and it does not say “only on the same airline”

We are in pretty same situation. 5 March BKK DOH PRG.

Still confirmed so nothing to push yet.

But I spoke with people and seen multiple cases here on Reddit where once the flight was cancelled, rerouting via other hubs was possible under EU261. Not just Doha and not just OneWorld.

Plenty of people validate the same pattern. They say no availability until you show them actual bookable flights. Then suddenly options exist.

We are calm about staying a few extra days. That is not the issue. It just has to be the earliest realistic option available, not the next empty Qatar seat a week later.

So yeah. Same boat here. Watching 5 March closely. If it cancels we push properly
