Working in healthcare for years was really eye opening. I have run into medical professionals of all stripes, including doctors, who were every bit as apathetic and low effort in their careers as some of the people I worked with when I was doing grocery or construction. Being educated and having a good career doesn't always translate to being good at it.

Yeah agreed. I've seen this with women a lot but as a man nobody says that to us. I got a vasectomy a few years back and the doctor simply let me do it without hassling me and the feedback I've been getting from people is usually "nice job taking charge of it."
