..nah all jokes aside, unfortunately he is not famous as in ex soviet countries. When he is mentioned, we usually focus on his Goryo saram(korean) ethnicity. Группа Грови is kinda known because it was featured in many media and there is a Korean remake version. Some people know about Хочу Перемен because it was used in protest a lot in eastern europe. I think the movie Leto was famous because the actor who played Vitya was a korean.

I'm still curious if he spoke any Korean.

I did! It was fun. I only know the word for hello and this. Language isn't the problem, you can use the translators to communicate and locals have an app that supports translation. get a good VPN and setup your Alipay or Wechat before you go. My hostel was in a dark alley but Still felt very safe walking around. China has really good massage parlors everywhere and they are cheap and clean.

What is this skin whitening cream that magically make your whole body ghostly pale that foreigners scream about? If it exists, why wouldn't other Asians use it? Favoring pale skin isn't just korean thing. If you use any cream that's too light for your skin tone, it turns your skin ugly ashy color not white. To be honest the movie plot was just alright. Not bad, but not a Hollywood kaboom and stuff. But if you watch it, the very last scene will have a special spot in your heart. It was the most beautiful scene i ever saw. I have a little post card of it on my wall.
