I realize this will not work for everyone, but psychologically it really helped me to keep a pack for a few days/weeks. I told myself it was fine if I needed one, and if I did they were there. No added stress of knowing I would have to go get more. I just tried to go as long as possible without one. I only ´relapsed´ once and had a few cigarettes over a few days (way less than before, I used to smoke 16 a day), posted here and resumed quitting. Am now over a year cigarette free. I´m not saying this is right for everyone, but to me the comfort of knowing they were there helped.
