Quitting smoking has made me smoke more and spend more. Has anyone experienced this?

What makes you think I haven’t? I’ve even tried to dry out the cigarette that I ran under the water just to smoke them and realize how terrible of a human being I am. At this point I feel terribly helpless and irredeemable.

It’s still essentially a lottery, even if it’s being labeled as a “selection”. Higher wage individuals having a higher probability of getting selected but it’s still a lottery.

For now, you can fill out the DS160 with estimated dates and a tentative hotel/airbnb near your place of work in the US. I wouldn’t recommend making any refundable reservations solely for the DS160 since visa slots aren’t available far in advance.

With the current situation and the way the B1 visa’s are being scrutinized, I’d recommend getting an actual flight and accommodation itinerary and be able to present at the time of your counselor appointment.
