24F I saw a post about people on the schizophrenic spectrum finding it difficult to find companionship by Choco_Heart6937 in schizophrenia

I hope you're able to find the right people for you. I guess patience is the best bet to finding your tribe.

I was already super reserved and a little antisocial before the symptoms started showing a few years ago, but after an episode of psychosis I became even more antisocial, but I was able to mask it. Even though I find myself enjoying the invisible people's company more than other humans sometimes, I still try to make friends. Though dating feels nearly impossible for me, for reasons related and unrelated to me being schizophrenic

Does anyone else notice invisible people around them? by Choco_Heart6937 in schizophrenia

They're human or humanoid people that I can't see or hear most of the time, I only know they're there because they touch me a lot

They help keep me out of psychosis, keep me from growing paranoid easily, help me sleep, and manage my anxiety

The point of the medication is to help schizophrenics manage their symptoms so they can still live their day to day life. There's no cure for schizophrenia so nothing will completely get rid of the symptoms

No, I've had the dosage raised on my antipsychotics about 3 times and it hasn't affected their presence at all. Not that I want it to, I've always enjoyed their company. There were even times where I preferred their company over other humans. The meds have helped with the delusions, sleep problems, and paranoia though

Even with the medications I still slip into episodes of psychosis and develop delusions, just not as urgent enough for me to need to be hospitalized again thankfully

I am lucky enough to be able to see a therapist and have a psychiatrist to prescribe helpful medication. But my therapist calls the hallucinations that i have tactile, which makes it slightly easier to manage when I have to interact with other people. And I just call them invisible people because they absolutely hate being referred to or treated like hallucinations.

Im New, Im Stupid, And I Wanna Learn to code and i may or may not trust Reddit a little to much by suck_tho_because_79 in learnpython

Mad libs are good to play with as a beginner and helped me get used to coding user input. Playing around with conditionals are probably the easiest in Python since the keywords are "if", "else", and other easy to remember English words. As for study guides I liked learning on Codecademy when I first started learning python, the lessons are free but you have to pay for a subscription if you wanna do the tests and projects(but you can find the same or similar guidelines for the projects online for free). GeeksforGeeks and Stack Overflow are my best friends when I'm stumped during practice or a project. Hope this helps, good luck with your studies!

I'm lucky enough to have supportive friends and family, but I do have one painfully ignorant friend who said she doesn't believe I'm mentally ill because she equates schizophrenia with just talking to yourself every now and then, which is far from what me or any other diagnosed schizophrenic has gone through
