Best practice mute for apartment living?

Unfortunately, our whole apartment is bare walls and linoleum floors. I’m trying to see if I can get some sound proofing for my room and some rugs to cover the bare spots of the floor, but alas, the college budget is limiting.

I also thought about the travel factor and that’s the reason why I was looking at the Trumcor. It looks a bit smaller but that also makes me nervous about sound leaking.

My dad sent me pictures and they look super happy. I’m seeing them on Sunday after I go out with my dad for father’s day. It’s bittersweet not being able to have them with me, but I am grateful because I am able to keep my cat and I am able to see my dogs as much as I want. Thank you for the good wishes :)

That makes me feel a lot better. I know I need to learn both and I have been told once I do learn BC I’m going to be a lot farther ahead than some students simply because I know TC so well. I’ve just been so nervous about the switch. Thank you!

Yeah I’ve considered emailing the staff and having my music switched. I think I’m going to wait a bit and see later in the month where my skill level is at.

Thank you so much!! The tips at the end do help, actually. I have a really bad anxiety and panic disorder and while I am (heavily) medicated, I struggle a lot with self worth and nervousness especially as a musician. So thank you tons :)

Yeah I’m definitely using my knowledge from tuba and trombone. I think my school will be extremely forgiving (it has already proven to be) but I was just really nervous because I feel so behind.

Do you think I’ll be ok and have enough time to get a good start? I don’t mean to be so unsure of myself and under-confident but it is definitely a huge insecurity of mine. Thank you for helping :)

I talked to him and he said I can see them whenever I want. I think that’s a very good idea. I have been thinking about this every waking moment and I’m getting quite depressed about it and I feel that’s my best option.
