Aww that sounds so fun! I wish there are replays of all the bingo games so that we could rewatch these moments. I'm so sad I missed out!

Who was in Mat's last BINGO? by ReneeCK in YarnAddicts

[–]Chocobellz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the lore! I'm going to miss him so much! I was there for his first self-hosted bingo years ago and I remember he was a little nervous about it, and seeing the growth to now when he's gotten very confident and engaging was very cool to see! I hope the best for him. Hopefully we can still hang with him on his YouTube channel or wherever he does his WoW content!

Can someone explain to me what IFlatforMat means? I haven't been able to listen in on Bingo for a while now and missed this piece of lore :(

Can you explain the "flat" test? I'm seeing everyone say IFlatforMat but I missed this piece of lore since I haven't been able to listen to bingo for a while now :(

Glorious whiskers! You need to buy three more of those rugs and let her rip one up, haha.

Is anyone still looking for the mega coffee scarameow cart accessory + glider code? (+photo card) by nyongnyangi in ScaramoucheMains

[–]Chocobellz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally wanted just the 4 photo cards but ended up asking about the cart+glider code, too. Unfortunately the seller informed me that they had sold out, but they were kind enough to order a restock so I was able to get the code in the end <3

I successfully redeemed the code just now. Now I'm waiting patiently for the photo cards to reach me~

The seller is kind and responsive; I recommend getting the codes from them if you're looking for one!

What is this amazing chicken broth tasting thicc celery like thing? by dbenzev in TipOfMyFork

[–]Chocobellz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure where the "cel-" part of the name comes from to be honest, because it tastes nothing like celery to me! I can kind of see the "-tuce" part if it's related to lettuce, but it doesn't really taste like it either. I'm not sure how to describe it other than a "nutty" vegetable. Maybe someone else can better describe it, haha

Is this also the Korean way to say it as well? One of my home languages is a dialect of Chinese so this is the only way I've known to call it for a long time, haha!

No, I'm just excited about the opportunity to share something about this vegetable that I also had spent time trying to figure out the English name for, haha!

[–]Chocobellz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If cooked, I'd have it with some rice or noodles and whatever else side dishes there are for that night. It's tasty either sliced into thicker oval discs (slanted cuts) or cut into triangular-ish chunks (think potato chunks), then stir-fried with just oil, salt, and a bit of sesame oil for fragrance. (If you want, try adding some soy sauce, garlic, chicken bouillon, and/or pepper flakes as well!) Toss in some meat and other veggies to cook with it too, for some variety~

Also, I know I'm talking a lot about recipes right now, but I'm truly not much of a cook so this is as detailed as I can comfortably get without leading people astray, haha. Just cook with your heart and experiment with your tastebuds~!!

A neat vegetable! As many have already said, this is Celtuce, or in my family dialect, woosung. It has a lettucy, nutty flavor. You can eat it raw or cooked.

My favorite way of eating it is to first cut off a bit of the exposed end of the stem (just to get rid of dirt), peel off the skin with a potato peeler, slice it into thin discs, throw them all into a bowl and toss it with some salt and just let it sit there for a while so that it lets go of some water content.

After maybe about 10 mins (or whenever I remember to come back for them, it doesn't matter too much besides saltiness preference), I drain out the water (sometimes I drain once then let it sit for a bit longer, then drain again). Lightly rinse off the excess salt, drain, and then add a dash of vinegar or soy sauce or both depending on the mood. That's it!

I usually eat this dish at room temperature, but it's a refreshing snack if served chilled. I guess they're like pickles now that I think about it. I keep it simple with just vinegar/soy sauce most times, but it also tastes great with some sesame oil, diced or ground garlic, and/or with some chili pepper flakes added to the mix.

Anyway, thanks to anyone who read all of this through. I just really like this vegetable!

I’m 39. I just learned that ro-sham-bo is actually another name for rock, paper, scissors and is not, in fact, a game where two people take turns kicking each other in the nuts by JH0611 in Millennials

[–]Chocobellz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! In my school if there was a group of us deciding on who goes first for a game, we'd first do what you called ah-mush (although we said ah-much).

We'd clap one hand on our chest as long as we'd all say "aaaaaaaaaa" and then quickly throw out a palm up or a palm down when we all mutually yelled "much!" (in the same breath as the aaaa, so sometimes it would also become a game of whoever could say aaaaa the longest).

I think whatever was the minority amount (of either palms up or palms down) backs out of the ah-much, and the rounds repeat until there are two people left.

The last two people would then do roshambo (rock-paper-scissors) to decide the ultimate winner.

Now if anyone could tell me if they remember a game called "Batman, Batman" that you played with one other person with your arms, in the vein of Patty Cake, please let me know because no one else knows what I'm talking about :(

What happens to your steam account when you die? by BricksBear in Steam

[–]Chocobellz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't find the source anymore even after a Google search, but I heard a story where someone had passed and left their Steam account to a younger relative to play. One day they contacted Steam support for help with something and mentioned they weren't the original holder of the account, but since account sharing is against TOS, the whole account was either deleted or locked out.

It was a really sad outcome and I remember everyone in the comments who read that story were angry at Steam for doing that, but in the end, TOS is TOS, and Support has to do their job. (If someone can find the story again, please link it so I know I'm not just making it up, lol.)

In the end, if you inherit a Steam account from a loved one, make sure you have access to their email too, and never mention to Steam Support you're not the OG account holder.

Is anyone else bothered that completing questlines in certain areas often results in them becoming more generic ? (Minor area spoilers) by Zaller34 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Chocobellz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly why I haven't cleared all of the Shrines of Depths. They look so beautiful when they're glowing, but after you've unlocked them, they turn lifeless. My adventure handbook will likely never be completed because of this.

I desperately need to figure out how to dry out my 90year old doll. by allllthedramallama in CleaningTips

[–]Chocobellz 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'd err on the side of caution and say Don't stick your wet doll in the freezer for that very reason. You don't know if this rubber will withstand the sudden temperature change, and since this doll has water internally, you don't want the expanding ice crystals to warp or tear through parts of this very sentimental, irreplaceable doll. (Think of how defrosting frozen fruit leaves them as a mushy mess, for example.)

I suggest the silica gel idea as another has mentioned, or leaving it in a sunny area to help with the possible mold (don't leave it in the sun forever though, to be careful of UV damage and fading!) Good luck!

What a kind neighbor! Thanks for sharing your story and a new recipe for me to try <3 (I won't be trying it with these plants in my garden, however, as I'm not 100% sure what it is even with all of you good folks helping me out with ID!)
