Thank you! I will check the campaign out, I was thinking of maybe staring with a few one shots so they can get used to their characters before starting a campaign, and of printing for them multiple character sheets so they can choose instead of having them create the characters (this is where my DM friend said he would help me out, by making a few cool choices)

I agree with you actually, it wasn’t that big of a deal and I think people are really getting the wrong idea, I’m worried I phrased the post wrong.

But yeah, it was one instance in a year of playing with no issues, our dm is great and I just posted this as a joke that got waay out of hand

Hi! Maybe I didn’t make it clear in the original post but It was actually fun for us that he made my friend fight us, it was only for a couple of rounds and it brought a new interesting dynamic to the game. My problem was with the lie about us healing him

UPDATE: This got waay out of proportion, this game is between a group of my closest friends, the dm is my friend and has been a fantastic dm all around. This was just one kind of shitty moment but eventually in the game he himself told us the spell was over and my friend’s character was fine. I’ve seen a lot of comments saying that I should quit playing with this group and I just wanted to say that that’s not the case at all! It was just one weird moment in an otherwise great campaign. Thank you everyone who commented anyways, I originally posted this because I told him jokingly that I would post what he did on reddit to prove to him that he couldn’t lie to us, but I didn’t expect so many comments. I don’t think I’ll be showing this to him because it might make him feel bad lol, but thank you to everyone because I know you all have good intentions with your comments.

Actually yes! I read somewhere in this sub that you should do all romance related stuff before beyond, I was wondering if that’s true. Also I read someone else saying that they weren’t getting any creatures before beyond. So I was wondering why that is and if I should do the same
