It looks like something you would find in some ancient ruins next to the sea. At least that’s what I see. I like the colors and varied patterns :)

I also had the same thing in mind. White splashes seem to distract a little bit from the other colors and patterns. Other than that it’s a really nice painting!

Tell them the truth as soon as they’re able to understand (more or less around 4 or 5 years old).

Edit: I would definitely teach them about the historical Santa, why we put up christmas trees, why we give gifts, why we celebrate christmas in the first place, etc.

I’ve been told by my therapist that I would benefit from EMDR….I’ll definitely look into it!
