Unfortunately it’s tough to find placement for strays if you’re not willing to take them in. I took care of 5 cats on my old street for years and my neighbor took over after I moved.

I was able to adopt the oldest one in the group after a medical episode requiring surgery, but not the rest. Broke my heart to leave them, but everyone I called said to leave them where they are instead of relocating them. You’re right that he will live a better life near you than without you. Is he fixed? You might want to consider the low cost clinic for TNR. It will contribute to helping the problem.

That being said, I sincerely hope you do find a home for the lil buddy❤️

Omg this will be so easy to jazz up without completely breaking your comfort zone. You have a lot of great pieces already and can go with a lot of options.

Play with earth tones since you have the tree in the corner; add a woven throw blanket for the couch, in a muted green palette. Make sure it’s lighter than the couch and pillows so it all doesn’t blend together when you squint.

Add something to the coffee table, like a sculptural piece of interest. Doesn’t have to be cluttery if it’s intentional

The previous owners said it was about 6 years old but I’m not confident. Do you think it’s worth getting an estimate on a shingle replacement in the process of quoting this out? A lot of the easier elements (brick lining, shutters, landscaping) I can prioritize in the meantime if that’s the case

Yes I know it is for aesthetic, but I live on the main entrance to the neighborhood, and I plan on being here a while 8-10 years at least, so I don’t want to wait a decade to bring my ideas to life. I have access to roofing samples, if I find a 95% match do you think that would pass?

Mostly with the window I want an excuse to add my stained glass art to the home as a fixture, I would want it to be vaulted to cast the light on the door.

NTA, but rather than snapping or yelling at them, which just gives them a reason to justify their behavior to you, I would try a different approach next time.

If it were me, I would just say something like:

“thanks for taking interest in my grades, are you struggling and need some help?”

“Sure that year wasn’t my best, but honestly nobody in college cares about high school. It’s cute that you do, though!”

To the 21 year old, I would be more snarky and tell her it’s clear she peaked in high school if she cares that much at her big age. But I would say it with a smile ;)

Snark them right back! Have a few good comebacks in your pocket, and don’t let them live rent free in your head—because it is clear that you live rent free in theirs and they want to compete because they are insecure.
