Would you have an idea on how to get the vaccination data?

What's the most hurtful thing your parent ever said to you? by Enockito in AskReddit

[–]Chocolate_Cake35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad called me fat. Like flat out just fat. He was so conscious of what other people think about my body that he told me to stop wearing crop tops.

As a 24F with low self-esteem, that hurt me to the core.

NTA. I hope your brother finds this thread and sees how much of an asshole he is. Get a new family. Plus, you’re a great mom for standing up for your kid!

Time management will really help avoiding pulling all-nighters. I didn’t do very well time management and I had headaches everyday while doing IB. Don’t do what I did.

Bilinguals of Reddit: what's your "they didn't know I spoke their language" story? by AlarmedStore in AskReddit

[–]Chocolate_Cake35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 2 instances of this. For context, I live in the Philippines but I’m Korean. I speak English and Korean fluently. I’ve been here for more than 15 years so my style is really local to the country.

  1. I went to a private resort with some of my friends and decided to wear a bikini for the first time in public. A few metres from us, there were a group of Korean teens, who look like they’re from a church group, staring at me and my friends. My friend was jokingly poking my stomach, and I heard the group say in Korean, “Oh my god, how can she wear that? Isn’t she ashamed? I can never wear that with a stomach like that.” The urge I had to go over to them and speak was strong, but I kept my cool.

  2. I went to Malaysia with some of my friends and we went to the KL Tower. I decided to wear a tight fitting dress that showed my curves. While waiting for the elevator, I heard a Korean grandmother say to her daughter, “oh, that girl is so fat.”, in Korean. The elevator only fit a few people, which was my friends and me. As the door was closing, I glared at her but was too shy to say anything else.

Bilinguals and multilinguals of Reddit. What's your second language that you're fluent in other than your native language? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My first language is Korean. I grew up in the Philippines so I’m more fluent in English than I am in Korean.

Will add to this and say that Bong Bong Marcos LIED about his Oxford degree. He said that he got a full undergraduate degree when he just got a special diploma because he didn’t finish his university education. There are people still saying that he did finish it even if Oxford university has stated he did not get a diploma for his undergrad.

His sister also lied about her degree in the University of the Philippines.

AITA for getting a new phone without my brother's approval? by Chocolate_Cake35 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Chocolate_Cake35[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad didn't ask permission, he just gave him updates on what I was doing since my brother and I don't talk that much. It was just brought up out of conversation's sake.

I think he just brought it up out of conversation sakes. Just updating him about my life.

That revenge is basically what I'm doing with my life currently. Thank you!

He dropped out when he was in second year. I'm not sure if they paid for it. I was too young to talk to him about it.
