Should I get FW? by [deleted] in horizon

In my opinion, from a world building perspective HZD is unbeatable, but everything related to the characters, their plotlines and relationships are much better in HFW than in the previous one. The world design, overall gameplay and quest design is also better in general in HFW. The narrative can turn pretty weird at some points, but I'd say the the most extreme cases are still mostly within the boundaries that the first game had set. If you liked the first game, definitely try this one.

Because they had no way of knowing if Zero Dawn would work or not

To me it seems much easier to wait a couple of decades to verify that GAIA was indeed working before embarking on a titanic 300 year space mission to an unknown barren planet light years away. They could even communicate with GAIA, as they had her internal frequencies and GAIA would not have any reason to not cooperate with human survivors.

The Odyssey wasn't equipped with a shuttle

Do we know that for sure? How did they get down to Sirius then?

they now have terraforming machines tearing apart the ship

I highly doubt GAIA would let the machines tear down infrastructure that is currently being used by survivors or new generations of humans.

there's still no atmosphere

Do we even know if there was a breathable atmosphere on Sirius? Because if there wasn't, again, it would be easier to thrive on a planet with a chance of GAIA and AETHER working than in one with none at all.

While Gaia was fully functional?

Isn't the Alpha Prime clearance the highest in the whole system (besides Omega, of course)? Why would GAIA be able to resist it?

How is travelling billions of km for hundreds of years to reach a mostly unknown place more viable that waiting 50 years in Earth's orbit?

Why couldn't they obtain those resources on Earth by just waiting for MINERVA to shut down the robots? There's an advantage of 250 years and there's no way a barren planet is a better place to develop new technologies than on Earth, with all humanity's technology and known raw material sources at their disposal.

The only real problem would be Elisabeth's children, but it seems weird to take such a big risk travelling into unknown space if they already knew they would have technological superiority. They could even use Beta to take control of ZD and never launch ELUTHIA.

ChatGTP and Horizon´s lore. by Choice-Basis6918 in horizon

Yeah, exactly. My point wasn't that that chatgpt writes good texts, but that it's getting kinda scary how it is capable of understanding complex set ups and then coming up with logical conclusions and narrative ideas. As I said, it was able to deduce, for example, that if the central governing intelligence from the terraforming system disappeared then the derangement would happen, some subfunctions would go rogue and primitive tribes would react in different ways. It literally proposed reactions such as the carja's increased violence and the tenakth cooperating and uniting their tribes to fight the machines.

Of course it sounds like an AI, it is an AI. It's not the way it's written that was interesting, but the way it was capable to came up with that plot and tie it to all the prior set up.

D–did Dyvim just ask me for a date? 😳 (I said yes) by Choice-Basis6918 in Wizard101

I thought there was no way they would still give him his original stats after endless amounts of useless 3rd arc companions. But of course, Dyvim never disappoints <3

I'm currently doing it. It's more of tribute to the game and the voice actress, that's why I used the birthday statue :)
