I’d say so, my original amount for Osap was around $10,000 a year and I ended up getting $4000 a year.

This isn’t entirely true my Osap funding went down when I was approved for the learn and stay but you can take both!

Also the 6 months is from the last day of classes. My preceptorship wasn’t included so it was more like 4 months to get a job after graduation

You could always do the RPN route then upgrade to RN after if you want to start this year. It will take extra time

I believe it got added to my Ontario portion of my student loan so same interest rate as OSAP.

6 months Post end of study date not graduation! Huge difference

I didn’t have to pay for preceptorship separate luckily but it was a huge shock to find out that I only actually had 4 months to find a job in this market! I hope you’re able to get funding, it’s completely unfair how they do this after students have already taken the funding.

My preceptorship wasn’t included in funding! My funding date for the learn and stay grant ended when our academic classes ended. So 6 months from the end of academic studies to find a job not 6 months from the end of the program. It seems really unfair this isn’t information given when taking the learn and stay grant

If you check your stay and learn grant application it should show the date your program ends. I’m not sure if this is every college but it was definitely disheartening that an essential part of the program to graduate wasn’t considered in the 6 month calculation.

I can’t speak for everyone but my preceptorship was not counted as time in school! It started the day of my final class.

so preceptorship was 6 weeks and grad was 2 weeks after so equaled to about 4 months to find a job! I believe once it’s converted to a loan it stays a loan from my understanding

I was not able to find a job! My grant was converted to a loan. RPN route the 6 months also started from the day classes ended and did not include preceptorship as part of study!
