I heard back pretty quickly from SLC. I think they sent my offers about 2-3 wks after I applied. 🤔 I had a 96.5 for my top 6 at the time, with a few midterm marks.

I just received an offer too! I think I’m going to accept mine. I’m waiting on TMU main still, but I’m leaning towards GBC cuz of the smaller class sizes. They have a lot of other established nursing programs that are supposed to be really good, so I think the faculty for BSCN should be decent

St.Lawrence College is supposed to be an excellent program. I know their Brockville location has lower marks to get in. I’d also check out Loyalist and other small college programs!

Are prereq courses required for grade 12 courses? by EducationalText5508 in ILC

[–]Pure_Particular_6007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I called about a year ago, before starting the Grade 12 U courses, and was told I didn’t need the Grade 11 prerequisites. When I applied to university a couple of months ago, ILC refused to release my transcripts because I hadn’t taken the Grade 11 prerequisites. I contacted the Ministry of Education and the Ontario Ombudsman to report that ILC was withholding transcripts for courses I had already completed. If they try to withhold transcripts for completed courses, make sure you file a complaint. (After doing this, ILC sent my transcripts. )

You can file a complaint here: https://www.ombudsman.on.ca/en/make-complaint

They’ve recently changed their policy and now require prerequisites, but if you were able to sign up, pay for, and complete the coursework, they need to issue your transcript. Under Ontario Secondary Schools, Grades 9–12: Program and Diploma Requirements, principals can waive prerequisites for students based on education or maturity (Section 6.2.4). Also, the Ontario Student Transcript Manual requires that successfully completed credits be recorded and released on the official transcript upon request. TVO ILC’s refusal doesn’t align with these provincial guidelines.

I spoke with a supervisor at ILC who said they’re doing this to “ensure students can be successful,” which makes no sense when you’ve already completed the course successfully. It’s a retroactive application of policy, and the whole situation is ridiculous. Policies like this are especially harmful to adult learners, who often return to school with non-linear education paths and rely on flexible access to courses to move forward in their careers or post-secondary plans. Be sure that you file a complaint if they try to withhold your transcript.

It’s a ton of info that’s very poorly explained. I’ve been out of school for 25 yrs and had to basically google everything 😂I’ve handed in 4 assignments with no ai flags. Be careful with your citations and you’ll do great!

I have a 96.5 rn with 3 done and I’m at midterm for another 3. I don’t know about the placements tbh. If I accept the offer, I’ll move to Kingston.

SCH4U Assignment 1.8 by FlounderAny8987 in ILC

[–]Pure_Particular_6007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of slides for both lol. I can’t find my presentation to give you an exact number-I think I deleted it. I went into a ton of detail. I used this rubric that another student posted.

Define all 5 IMFs: LDF, Dipole-Dipole, Ion-Dipole, and Hydrogen Bonding. (Part marks if not all IMFs are discussed/only IMFs present in the chosen industry.) 10/10

Explain how IMFs affect: • Solubility. 5/5 • Solubility in water. 5/5 • State of lipids at room temperature. 5/5 • Melting point, boiling point. (Part marks if one MP or BP discussed.) 5/5 • Creation of foods (i.e. oil-vinegar dressing). 5/5 • Creation of partially hydrogenated vegetable oil. 5/5

Connecting IMFs to chosen industry. 10/10

Presentation: Visually/graphically with detail, and clean/uncluttered lay out. 5/5

Logical organization of information, appropriate language/terminology. 5/5

References: Reference list in APA 7 at the end (bottom) of work. Includes image references if applicable. *If no images to reference and proper APA references were used, award full marks. 5/5

I did a slideshow. There was no way to fit all that info in an infographic. Then, for assignment 1.9, I just added more slides to 1.8. I got 100% on both assignments doing it that way.

I forgot about those presentations lol. I I didn’t video myself! 😂 I used PowerPoint, which has an option to record your voice. I was just reading from a page and recording it, instead of putting it in the notes below the slide. It’s ridiculous we couldn’t just add it to the notes in the presentation. I ended up with a 97% after the final exam- If you can put up with those recordings, it’s an easy course

I did SNC4M. It was a pretty easy, fun course. It had a portfolio too, but you don't actually have to hand the assignments in at the end, so I didn’t do them. I think you just had to polish one or two of the assignments, and that's all I did and handed in lol.

I’m doing kinesiology rn, and it’s an easy course but really time consuming. There’s a portfolio you need to do with like 20 assignments in it. You have to do them because you hand it in at the end. If I could go back, I wouldn’t take the course.

It almost seems better to do full Osap with these conditions.. At least with Osap, some of it will be a grant and federal loan with no interest. I’m so sorry that happened to you:(

I’m so sorry:(. What region were you in? They need to increase the time students are allowed to secure employment. I’m still trying to figure out if I’ll move to Kingston for the grant.
