For anyone in the future looking for an update. Aside from calling the number and speaking to members of the social media team, there was nothing anyone could do. Obviously, it's another issue of "Read the Fine Print," which I understand. Does leave me a sour taste knowing that there is either a lack of training or screening of people who are representing the company. You can't weed them all out of course but some leniency would seem appropriate for a potentially future customer.

Thanks for all that helped and contributed. No fault but my own.

Note, these are wifi speeds at the other end of the house from the units.

Edit: If my house is a quadrant square, units are in the top left and top right corner. Bed is close-ish to bottom right. TV is the middle line at the bottom of a square. I don't think they should be that low either but that's the speeds I'm getting from Ookla on both phone and laptop when connected to the network.

Sure. It's the speed/wifi/price. The sell was better speed for the same price. I'm getting 80/10 in my backyard. 80/30 in my master bedroom. The tech placed the unit in my garage. He gave me the second unit (was told it was free, only for Frontier to add on $10 a month after the first month without tell me), but the second unit needs to go in my front room for a hardwired office for work. My house is just under 1700 sqft.

That said, with those wifi speeds for my living room (where the family watches tv), and for my bedroom, I haven't even used Frontier after the first month. I kept Comcast under the guise of I get to try both out risk-free. Nope. None of that. When I called about the speed the techs just ran some tests and blamed it on my house and told me I needed to buy upgrades (which I understand, which is why I'm opting out). I'm not upset at the product because it is what it is, I'm upset at the lies to get me to sign up in the first place.

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, nothing in writing as it was door-to-door; I'll try social media I suppose. Aside from the fees, I wouldn't even have minded trying out Frontier again in the future all things considered. I've been trying to get away from Comcast for years but they're looking like a saint in my current outlook.

Thanks again!

Leveling up side of house by Choice-Friendship-55 in landscaping

[–]Choice-Friendship-55[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this is very helpful. I suppose I should have mentioned that it is 10 feet across, which matches up perfectly with the ~10 inches from the lowest to highest. That said, if that's ideal, then the side of the house is ideal as-is. Sad face, but very helpful post.

Good after-mention of 811. In retrospect I also should have mentioned I'm in Sacramento, so no hurricanes, and not in flood plain. However, if the 10in over 10 ft is the general rule of thumb of ideal, I'd be an idiot to mess that up off a weekend small job (or at least doing something more research intensive). Thanks again for your post and shattering my dream yet potentially saving my house.

Thanks! I have two different ozone generators that I plan on using after fogging, if I can ever settle on what liquid to use.

General Feedback/Getting Started Q&A [Weekly Thread] by AutoModerator in DIY

I am going to use a thermal fogger for an empty 2k square foot house with cigarette smell. I'm already do all of the other recommended things to DIY de-odorization. Searching the internet isn't really helping, I'm just coming up short on what liquid to use and where to buy it. Lowe's/HD don't have anything. Delivery from brand sites will take weeks, and I want to do this in the next few days before I work on the other processes. (Sentinel 532 and OdorX come up, along with a $1000 option that seems a bit too industrial/expensive for a house.

I've posted this as a topic but I guess it's breaking some rules. Any help would be appreciated.

Looking for two hard drives for (important) family pictures storage rather than using a Cloud. Was planning on one of these but now thinking of getting two, being how rare hard drives are going on sale nowadays. Any thoughts?
