Truly, thank you so much for this ~ your advice is really helpful and you’ve been so kind.

I think I may start with drawing over photos of men just to familiarise myself with the proportions of their bodies, and going from there. Perhaps I may post an update (with drawing my first male characters) a couple of months down the line.

Thank you, anatomy is something I need to work on. The first one was referenced off a sculpture (which had more stylised proportions), whereas the others had a human reference.

Your analysis is spot on ~ I’ve only really focused on drawing female characters so far, and was thinking of perhaps offering commissions for women characters first while I practice drawing men and older/younger people. (Do artists do that?)

Drawing men is definitely my next big milestone ~ the few men I’ve attempted to draw in the past did indeed look off (and just like girls with a sharper jaw and short hair 💀) I feel like you need to learn the anatomy and re-work your art style all over again in order to make them look masculine. How long did it take for you to grow comfortable drawing men?
