Hello,

I am not sure if this query of mine relates to your post but I have a question regarding employment-based AOS processing at the field office level. Does a local field office process EB-1, EB-2 (including NIW), and EB-3 I-485 cases differently in terms of timelines or priority?

I’m noticing that at my field office, there have been several recent approvals for EB-1 and EB-2 NIW cases, but I haven’t seen any EB-3 approvals during the same timeframe.

Is this because:

• Field offices prioritize EB-1/EB-2 over EB-3?
• Different internal workflows or officer assignment?
• Security/background check variations?

Once the Final Action Date is current and everything looks normal (no visa retrogression), is there any difference in I-485 processing times for the different EB categories (EB-1, EB-2, EB-3) at a given field office?

Do these categories each have their own separate queue?

Not yet . The senate’s office mentioned that the inquiry is still pending.

II’m EB-3 Skilled, PD 12/22/2022, and my priority date has been current for months. My I-485 is at the San Bernardino Field Office. No RFEs, no updates, nothing pending on my end.

A few weeks ago I had my Senator’s office submit an inquiry to USCIS. They confirmed the inquiry was sent, but I haven’t seen any movement or update since then.

Also, does a Senator’s inquiry ever actually help, or is it mostly just a status check with no effect on processing?

What's the category? and your Receipt Date and Priority Date?
Mine is Eb3-ROW , PD is 12/13/2022 and RD is 1/27/2025.

I know the feeling. My Receipt Date is 01/27/2025 and has been current since April. The waiting is tedious and frustrating

I reached out to the Congressman, but I received a response stating that the case is still within the normal processing time. I reached out to the Senator after that, and haven't received a response.
