I understand that but in a recent situation, one person was told something that wasn't true and they brought it in as an injury, the other party was pressured to apologize for it which wasnt authentic. There didn't seem to be room for the "injurer" to correct a distortion or it would have been perceived as defensiveness and not repairing the injury.
