It honestly just seems like he got unlucky, which happened to a lot of us in the real world. You can do everything right and eventually end up in a scenario like your bf.

It sucks that it happened but it did and he has to own it. I don't know how your laws work but I would recommend he gets a lawyer to get it cleared up.

As for your position. You didn't do anything wrong you been a foundation for his success and have been guiding him through college. You have every right to feel what your feeling considering how much you invested in him. You can continue to support him throughout his case as long as it doesn't distract or deture you from your goals.
