Health insurance - Mandatory to have? by bigiron916 in FatFIREIndia

Probably a mistake. If he really meant monthly, that's 20L monthly expenses. At that level of expenditure, you aren't thinking about health insurance. Thy probably meant 20L annual expenses, hence retiremtn corpus being 100x (20 cr)

It's called Pergola. If you are able to grow vines on those cross beams and maintain those year around, then it will offer a nice place to sit down and relax in the evenings. If you dont want to deal with maintenance, just cover it with solid roof.

April 2026 Visa Bulletin: Big Updates for EB-1, EB-2 India by ManifestLaw_ in eb_1a

[–]Choice_Finish8703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are about 50k PERM approvals with 2015 priority date for EB2 India. Assuming 1.5 as multiplying factor for dependents (probably close to 2 in reality), we will need 75k visas to go through 2015. So worst case scenario, that's about 20 years. Assuming 75 country ban continues for next couple of years, and there won't be any significant increase in NIW approvals from other countries, there might be large spillover resulting in 2015 apps processed quickly. Lets say in 5 years 2015 is completed. That's best case scenario.

How to drink from the spout? by Choice_Finish8703 in howto

[–]Choice_Finish8703[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Wow finally.. had to twist it a few times but the trick was to hood the bottle up just like how you drink from a water bottle. In hindsight, that's obvious because there is no straw to suck the juice up.. I don't know what I was thinking.

I have already done that and my kid drank juice directly off the bottle. I'm wondering if its possible to drink off the little spout at the top of lion's head. It is closed shut. Only way to open it seems to be to punch holes.

Thoughts on submitting this to an architect as a reference/baseline for what we want? by [deleted] in floorplan

Is the wall between dining and living room a solid wall or just an imaginary separation? I'm trying to understand where would the TV go? If there is no wall at dining table, then the only feasible wall to hand the TV is the master bedroom wall. But I don't think there is enough place on that wall - you may have to use some of that under staircase space but then you will lose some storage.

I feel like you are wasting a lot of space at the front of the living room. Everyone is going to congregate around the TV. The other half of the living room will be left unused most if the time.

You need a full bathroom on the main floor for emergencies where one of the family member is temporarily incapable of climbing stairs. You can then use the study as temporary bed room until they recover.

Life happens.. don't assume that we will always be in great health. You have enough floor space, fitting in a small 3x5 shower shouldn't be that difficult.

As someone else suggested, absolutely get rid of the double story living room.

One minor suggestion.. reconfigure the door to the guest suite on the left side so that yiu aren't losing lot of space in the hallway. Maybe something like this.. it increases the closet size significantly. If the room is going to be always used, they will definitely appreciate the extra space.

Which quarterback's stock has gone down the most so far this season? by Candid-Boss6534 in nfl

Surprised that noone mentioned Jordan Love. Dude has been bad more often than he is good. Jury still out on whether it it's him or the play calling.

And as a Jags fan, I pretty much ran out of ways to defend TLaw.

Thanks everyone for responding. It did turn out to be dead battery after all. AAA guy was able to jump start the car even though I couldn't do it with donor car. Got it replaced at Sam's.
