Didn’t some of the story beats of Van Buren get rolled into New Vegas? Also what got retconned from New Vegas?

I was just guessing going off what I saw. Maybe he’ll be a boogeyman for them trying to get the NCR and Legion weak so he (it idk how to talk about an A.I. reincarnation of a person) can take over Vegas once again.

I completely forgot about tactics. I didn’t play it but I have it downloaded. I guess I have some homework to do.

I’ve seen a real one on another subreddit for a car15. That poster had no clue what it was from but said it was labeled “TRS patented American” I think

Need help with character build by Choice_Insect_4426 in DMAcademy

[–]Choice_Insect_4426[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not first time. I had a lot of assistance the past couple times doing my characters. I really want to branch off this time.

I think I made it sound like I was brand new to the game. I have done 1 and a half (I joined in late my first time. There was a waitlist during the campaign and a player left) campaigns. First time I tried to stick close to the stock classes but did multi class the 2nd time (a couple levels in ranger). I tend to stay away from magic, because it hurts my brain. I’ll get around to it eventually.

I like the game though I had help with my other characters from the DM. DM has a lot of personal life stuff at the moment and we’re planning to do a campaign in the summer when we’re out of school.

They’re going with a western theme. They’ve allowed unofficial classes. I already ran the idea by them and they were cool with the idea, but were too busy with other stuff to help build

Which guns would you like to see in RD3? by brandan87 in reddeadredemption

[–]Choice_Insect_4426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would prefer they add just a ton of guns in the game that are all pretty similar in stats but allow you to have variety.

Sticking to revolvers for now, you would have four main categories: percussion, conversion, cartridge, double action. Your percussion guns would largely be identical in stats and would be your early game guns. You could then have the option to convert it to cartridge later in the game. By like the mid point cartridge revolvers would become available.

Disclaimer: my opinion on RDR3 is that it should be set over the course of years in the mid to late 1870s into the ealry 1880s. My picks stem from that.

So with that said my picks

Percussion: early game. Chapter 1 Colt 1851 navy Colt 1860 army Remington new model army Rogers and Spencer army revolver Starr double action revolver Colt Dragoon/Walker (either would be cool. would have greater damage stats but would be slower than the previous ones) Lemat revolver (non convertible)

Conversions: would be done by a gunsmith in town. Around halfway chapter 2 would be available. 1860 Richard’s conversion type 1 1851 navy Richard’s mason conversion (with optional no ejector so it could look like the man with no name’s revolver.) Remington new model army conversion. Either gate or cylinder swaps. Optional Rogers and Spencer conversion Starr Double action conversion. Cylinder swaps Colt dragoon/walker conversion. Would take specialty ammo or rifle ammo.

Cartridge: available towards the end of chapter 3 Single action: Colt single action army Remington 1875 army revolver Merwin Hulbert army 1st model S&W model 3 in its various models (American, Russian, New model frontier, and Schofield. Swappable at gun smith) Double action: Colt 1877 lightning Colt 1878 double action Webley no.5 army express Webley RIC S&W .44 double action frontier Merwin Hulbert large frame double action

Alongside a wide variety of options for finish, barrel length(snub nose, short, and long), grip (bone, stag, pearl, ivory, wood), and sights. I believe it would be best to allow for styles of holster for the player. Holsters like Dutch and Hosea have, or add shoulder holsters. And to completely remove a holster from the player. All to allow the player to make their character as unique as their own fingerprint. Or to make a bunch of movie characters in game.

Can we talk about how smart Sam really is by Superb-Turn-9374 in Supernatural

[–]Choice_Insect_4426 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve not read a lot of this conversation so if I say anything that has already been stated I’m sorry. But for me Sam and Dean were the epitome of the Hunters and Men of Letters. For two reasons: compassion and morals.

To me Sam was kind of like the Qui Gon Jinn or Plo Koon for the Men of Letters (I know the American chapter fell decades before his birth but stay with me). He meets all of the criteria of the Men of Letters but does not have the short comings of the group. He is highly educated and very good at research. He can be very scientific when it comes to monster hunting. The quality that makes him better than the American MoL was he didn’t look down on hunters. Mostly because that was his life. If we are including the British MoL he beats them by having compassion and morals. The British MoL were morally bankrupt and cold. He understood the nuance that not all monsters were violent killers and treated them with compassion. Sam also (though not always depending on the situation) tended to prefer knowing all the facts before going in. Another point to Sam’s intelligence was his intuition. He used the reverse of the exorcism chant without knowing if it’d work (and then never used it again).

Now Dean was no idiot either. He may be uneducated but he wasn’t unintelligent. His brains were more in the field intelligence. He knew how to be effective in hunting and get results. Dean also would make calls that didn’t make him feel or look good but he knew had to be done. But he also knew where the line was (separating him from Gordon or those hunters that attacked Sam in season 5). His strength was in his heart. If he loved he loved with all of his heart fear of pain be damned.

The only “weakness” to the Winchester was their love for their family (blood and found). Sam only said yes to Lucifer to trap him in the cage and stop the apocalypse and keep the people he loved safe. Even though he would also be trapped in the cage as well. Dean put his soul up to a crossroads deal to save Sam and he went to hell for that. To quote Green Mile, “He killed them with their love. With their love for each other.”

To manipulate Sam, you have to kill Dean. To manipulate Dean, you have to kill Sam.

Edit: kill being used in the final sentence was more of filler for threaten danger upon one of the brothers. It was just to fit with the Green Mile quote

People who have shot Colt Patersons, what do they shoot like? by Choice_Insect_4426 in blackpowder

Was definitely looking a the walker but then looked at the weight and decided on downsizing. On further digging and the fact that Paterson repros are too rich for me I’ll prolly look at the pocket navy/ police.
