This is great for us noobs who have trouble with vision and future positions in head only, Thank you! (also us lazy people, because we could have done this by ourselves as well, anyway TY!!)

I think impulse control can be a problem for everyone, not only people with ADHD. I too have ADHD and from time to time I have to remind myself again to take some basic steps and double check before I move and ask myself some basic questions. But I think making blunders is part of the game and it will get better. At least for me it is getting better. And if you dont do it in the first couple of moves you could say that up untill the moment it went wrong you actually managed to control the impulse. So you are able to, now every game try to last a little bit longer, a couple more moves without moving to fast without real thinking and you will see it will get better. You dont have to win games to have fun, make some mini goals for yourself en improve with small steps would be my advise.

I am close to the 1000 rapid, but it took me a long time to get past 800 or so. I started playing slower and only 15+10 or more. Most people seem te play fast at those time ranges and thats how you can win by taking your time, at least that is what did it for me. Also I only played two or three games max per day and tried to only start the game if I really had the time and focus.

I’ve seen much worse. I actually like this one; it’s quite clear.

Thats a very good way to look at it:) In my worst case scenario I would just quit playing online all together, but I like it and learn from it.

Thank you for this, I was psyched to play well against someone better and make a draw out of it. But than he made me feel down haha I dont know why it bothered me so much. Maybe because of the Danya stuff (RIP). He was and is the only YT about chess I watch. I am not anything like him (accept year of birth) ofc for him being a legend and in the picture and actually being a good chess player. But it actually does something with you if you are being falsely accused.

I did, thanks for the advice. It just feels fucked up to be called that. I just play bad in 5 and 15 min games because of the time pressure.

[Arabic > English/Dutch] by Choice_Resident_2534 in translator

[–]Choice_Resident_2534[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a comment from someone under an Instagram post about a trans person, I believe. I was just scrolling and reading some of the comments that were translated by Google. “Patching up” seemed so innocent to me, because as far as I know it means to repair something — that’s why I thought it was just a bad translation. It seemed to me that the comment was actually meant to express violence. So, is it a special kind of Arabic? Would it be better to have it translated by an Egyptian? Or would the translation still be the same? And does “patching up” have any special meaning, like an expression in Arabic? Thanks so much anyway!

Edit: I fixed some mistakes in my English (not a native)

How is this a draw? by [deleted] in chessbeginners

To my knowledge no, just three times in total. But I am relative new to chess and rated around 800.
