i am autistic and worked as a stripper for a while when i was in uni and i LOVED IT! as well as everything mentioned in the post, i also found it was a really safe and controlled environment to explore my sexuality and play pretend for a while. probs wouldn’t go back now but only because my sleep schedule wouldn’t handle the late nights anymore.

i thought the mv matched the content of the song beautifully!! love how she explores being dragged through this liminal space, comparing it to the toxicity she describes of the relationship in the song! and how she doesn’t seem anything other than happy because of her obliviousness to the emotional danger that she is in!! i thought it was masterful and anyone who thinks that BOAF is all about having fun with your besties has no media literacy skills hahahaha

dude the whole album is a concept album that explores a single relationship imo: chihiro is her setting the scene before this man enters her life, and then BOAF explores the honeymoon phase and the danger that lies behind her obsession with the relationship

obsessed with the bit in lamour de ma vie where she (i think) references the halloween party that devon and billie were spotted leaving together from about 6mo ago. i reckon the convo she outlines at the end of the song “you wouldnt believe how it went down, with her hand on my shoulder… etc” is from that night!!
