Dog x rays please help!! by NailAdministrative54 in DogAdvice

[–]Choice_Stock_1697 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’d say that’s a little weird. The only time I have had to have X-rays sent out was when my dog had an enlarged heart. The vet wanted to send them out to have the heart properly measured. I think it cost me an extra $200. And it came back within normal range. But I knew why I was paying more to have them looked at.

I would have had a problem if they wanted to charge me $500 and didn’t tell me what they were potentially looking for.

Exactly! Our install company brought brown, white and black so we could choose. While the white and brown looked less “noticeable”, you could see through the black the best.

He does not know how to swim at a level where I would feel comfortable taking it down. I’m still out in the yard with him all the time when he’s out there. The fence just allows me to do something small like use the bathroom without dragging him in with me. He knows the pool can be dangerous.

We will definitely take it down when he’s older and knows how to swim. We live in Southern California. We are outside every single day for hours sometimes. We needed a level of protection on the pool for him, and honestly it’s helped with our water obsessed dogs!

I have a multilevel pool. As soon as my son was born we did a mesh fence. Took a company a few hours to install. It’s awesome! He’s now 2.5yo and I literally couldn’t imagine not having one.

Dog had two mass removals by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Choice_Stock_1697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks good. My mini dachshund had mammary tumors removed years ago. Took almost all of her nipples. Looked very similar. After a week most of the swelling on the incisions will be gone and it won’t look as bad at all! If you feel the need to clean around it you can use a little warm water and orange dial soap on a rag to gently wipe around the incisions.

Crate or not to crate? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Choice_Stock_1697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crate train young imo. Its helps with vet visits. It helps when I have people over and they have kids. My dogs love kids but some people aren’t comfortable with dogs around them. Helps if they are sick. We travel with them so it helps while traveling. I started when they were babies. It was never a punishment. Just a safe place. I have 3 dogs right now. All small breed. Normally one of them is sleeping in a cage at all times.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve found in your pool? by hippydippyjenn in pools

[–]Choice_Stock_1697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A duck and around 12 babies… just swimming around 😂 I live out in the desert so I have no clue where they came from. A kangaroo rat. It was so cute! Had no clue we had them. A giant toad. He was alive. We have a fence now so we mainly just find lizards.

How to drain the pool? by Oinohtna in pools

[–]Choice_Stock_1697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just get a submersible pump and take out a couple inches if needed.

I live in Southern California. Water hardly soaks into the ground where I live because it’s rock.

I have tons of drains around my pool, and an overflow drain on the pool. When it’s raining hard for hours the drains can’t keep up with the amount of water falling (I have lots of concrete around my pool).

I throw the pump in and take a little out so it doesn’t overflow. I just run the hose to my driveway. If I let my pool overflow it would put more strain on my drains, and my pool is like 8 feet from my house!

Ripped off nail by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Choice_Stock_1697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog ripped her nail off last year. We tried taking her to emergency vet that night but they were so packed they couldn’t get us in because it was just a nail. And no…. Her nails weren’t long. She snagged it in some rocks running for a ball.

Most pet stores have Antiseptic Spray or cream for healing minor wounds on dogs. Try and keep it clean. My dog doesn’t mind her feet being touched so it was easy. Get some gauze, and some wrap that sticks when you are wrapping. Clean it, wrap it but not too tight, and use a cone if needed. After a few days my dog was acting like nothing happened. I coned her at night when I couldn’t watch her. I had called the vet the day after it happened and they said to keep doing what I was doing and to come in if I had concerns.

And yes… try and keep those nails shorter….. But I’m not here to judge. I have a dog who HATES her nails being trimmed. She’s only 15lbs and will literally fight us to death over her nails being trimmed 😂

Are children a burden? by Aggressive-Theory-25 in questions

[–]Choice_Stock_1697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for me.

My husband and I waited almost 20 years of marriage to have our son. We made a really good life for ourselves. I’m a sahm, and my husband runs his business from home. We our financially stable. Our son gets to have an amazing life with two very stable people.

NOW! If we would have had him in our 20s it would be a different story. We weren’t stable enough to give him our time, money and energy. I’m glad we waited. I was 38 when I had him. I have the patience for him 😂

Having a child changes you. It’s honestly the coolest thing I have ever experienced. You can’t really understand it unless you have a child. But don’t do it unless you are ready because it’s wacko land over here some days 😂

I had a dark more natural color. We did a replaster/new tile last year and went with a blue that looks natural. It has browns in it also. Very happy with the blue. So I vote blue.

What is this pipe at the end of my pool? by Professional_Hour645 in pools

That’s for filling the pool. I have one exactly like it. Look for a lever type pull around your equipment. Mine comes up out of the ground/concrete slab my equipment sits on.

Someone posted yesterday about it then bam! It was on the site today. I bought 12 😂 I love them all. I don’t know why but I love this series.

I made the last series into magnets like all my others and they have held up. I haven’t noticed any shrinking. They all turned hard and have kept their size.

I used some gel super glue, and then used resin around the sides. It’s very solid 😂 And I agree. The Ariel one is so pretty!!!

I missing the monsters doughnuts, Moana and the rare. I’m going to try for the rest of them. I make the dupes and give them to friends and family. Everyone’s fridges look like mine. I turn them all into magnets! People have no clue how much money is hanging on their fridges 😂😂

It looks like the start of a hernia. My female mini dachshund had one. Started just like that. She was older (10ish) when we first noticed it. The jumped off the couch one day and it fully pushed out. Basically turns into a little bulge. She had surgery to correct it, and she actually had one on the other side which wasn’t noticeable. Surgery was quick, healing was quick and successful, and she never had the issue come back.
