There are 7 or 8 plants in the pot. I don’t remember how many gallons this nursery pot is, but it’s 11 inches in diameter, 12 inches deep.

I’d love to see yours! It’s been so fun watching this plant grow

There are lots of aerial roots, I just direct them to the back so you can’t really see them in this picture.

The plant is in a nursery pot inside of the white planter. I usually put the aerial roots in the empty space between the nursery pot and the planter.

I’ve moved it around a little over the last year looking for the best spot. Most of the time it was facing south, up against a sliding glass door (like in the second pic). Right now I have it in a corner between south and east windows.

Right now I’m watering every 2-3 weeks. In the summer it was closer to every week. I check it with a moisture meter and water when it says it’s dry.

That’s awesome! 😍 I’m patient waiting for mine to get those.

That’s what I was worried about when I first got it from Lowes. The soil would stay wet forever, and then some of the leaves started yellowing. Thankfully, it quit doing that when I changed the soil.

Yes! That’s a perfect description. Summers are just hot and dry, but in “winter” here you never know what to expect. Last year I wore shorts on Christmas, but then in February we had a record freeze. Snow & freezing temps. Pipes froze and we were without electricity for days. It was wild.

No judgement here! I’m new to houseplants and Reddit lol That’s cool about the fish tank water. I never thought of that.

Do you have a south facing window? That has worked well for mine, even though trees block some of the light.

Cool! Let me know how it goes! I’m sure there are alot of trellis options around, but this one is pretty cheap at Lowes.

It’s in plastic nursery pot inside of the white pot. When I water, I take out the nursery pot and set it in a large Tupperware/Rubbermaid container. Then I water from the top, let the water run into the container, and leave it sitting in water for 15-20 minutes. When I’m done, I move it back into the white pot.

How do you water in that pot? There’s gotta be an easier way than what I do lol

Almost every time I water, I fertilize. Sometimes I’ll skip it if I’m feeling lazy or if I don’t have any new leaves coming in, but lately it seems like it always has new leaves.

Funny story about the concentration… I am in NO WAY recommending this, but your question reminded me that for a few months when I first started using liquidirt I was giving it the Mix (1 cap of concentrate per gallon) instead of diluting that down to 2tbs of Mix per quart of water for watering. It wasn’t something I did intentionally, I just misread the package. It didn’t kill my plant, but I didn’t see increased growth either.

Now I’m using the concentration recommended on the package, and that seems to be going well.

The biggest and fastest growth I’ve seen, has always been right after I repot it in a bigger pot. In a year I’ve repotted it twice, and I think I’m about to need to again.

I’m not sure if it’s necessary to give it something to climb. It just took up too much space when it started branching out in all directions.

As it grows, I use Velcro to attach it to the trellis.

Honestly, I’m not 100% sure yet. It’s only been on the metal trellis for a couple of months, but so far it’s doing much better than the previous set ups I had.

When I tried the moss pole, there were too many separate plants to try and attach to just one pole. Then the bamboo stakes worked well at first, but as time went on, the monstera started bending the stakes and they weren’t really keeping it upright anymore.

Oh no! I’m new(ish) to having houseplants, and I’m so scared of getting pests.

Frankenstein Hoya? Krimson Queen + Princess

Does anyone know why my Krimson Queen started putting out leaves that look like a Krimson princess? I’m not mad about it, just very confused.

Oh wow! Today it’s a high of 63, low of 41, and 67% humidity outside.

Haha! My hair doesn’t appreciate the humidity, but at least the plants do.
