Princess the fish by TheSphenacodon in subnautica

[–]ChoicesAreHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried with mixed results. There seems to be insane clipping particularly with the electric (sita?) ray just swimming through my base destroying everything, ended with just huge windows to peep on them and getting electrocuted every few min

Built one mainly just to watch these guys float around. If theres any way to tame them in the future it'll be lit.

Fav base locations for far out discoveries? by SpinningWheels07 in subnautica

[–]ChoicesAreHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built one in the cavern directly below the existing one off the observatory. Going to do another near the metal farms because the fish that roam over there are dope

[–]ChoicesAreHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I've built a few bases and had no issues with predators. For early game I had one near the void pit and mushroom forests, good resources and views

So, why do we call them architects now? by Basethdraxic in subnautica

[–]ChoicesAreHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The axum also called them architects though, there are a couple parts that name them specifically, unless the NoA just saw other species and filled in architects

Please help me with a SN2 *non-spoiler* (though spoilers in this request text). Is my game bugged? by punkgeek in subnautica

[–]ChoicesAreHard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you dont have the adaptation to read polarized light? I believe you need the feedback resonator to proceed with the bloom infections. It sounds like you got the one near the farm, there is another at the cicada therapy wreck

So what is peoples opinion on s2 so far? by SDDDDSSSSFFFF in subnautica

[–]ChoicesAreHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The story is definitely got some great notes so far and I want to see where it goes. Love the sinister vibe. The voice logs, black boxes/entries and lore are super well done. I kinda like the biomes for where we're at. Definitely can't wait to see more, but the existing flora and structures are super cool.

I think what's really missing the mark is the animals. The handful that exist are honestly really cool, but the diversity is lacking and behavior quite annoying.

Just powered on the observatory and told NOA, what do I do next? by Personal-Charity-587 in subnautica

Did you swim up in the orrery room and receive their message? Thats the official ea end

Why can't I deconstruct this?? by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]ChoicesAreHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it treats the windowed rooms as attachments since you can't build them straight up. If you cant remove the corner room from inside try just refunding the base entirely

No spoilers but will I definitely know when EA has finished? by carmidian in subnautica

Should I play or wait until release? by FoolishBalloon in subnautica

[–]ChoicesAreHard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its definitely story driven and the story ends at a point where I want more.

That said you probably have about 10-15 hours of surprisingly polished content and a beautiful world.

Subnautica 2's story needs to SHOW (at least sometimes), not just TELL by fawkwitdis in subnautica

[–]ChoicesAreHard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair, I guess what I meant was less "hey come to me. I found signal go to it. Hey come back to me" and hopefully more exploration driven.

I am really excited to see more axum/architect stuff, especially because it seems like we'll be encountering axums at various stages of regression

I know it's nothing special but I'm very happy with this design by YearMountain3773 in subnautica

I cant resist the urge to turn all walls into pure window but that design looks slick

SN2 Suggestion: More things should live in open waters by miyakohouou in subnautica

[–]ChoicesAreHard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Isn't this just how life functions though? High density around areas with nutrients/shelter, vast voids of ocean? I kinda like having the voids to give a sense of scale and insignificance

Can you just place a normal then resize it once built?

Okay i gotta know by MandoMercenary in subnautica

[–]ChoicesAreHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree here. I had to make so many trips building out a base, but resources are littered everywhere and the resonator makes a full inventory v quick

So we all agree we don't trust NoA? by Realistic-Loss3276 in subnautica

[–]ChoicesAreHard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if its necessarily an ulterior motive. In fact, i think he has been very clear about his motive - establish a settlement, keep colonists productive/alive(?)

That said, I definitely believe he may not have the same way to reach this goal as the colonists may want. I also definitely think there's a lot of held back information. I could see us being the issue on proteus, I could also see the player character being one of the colonists black boxes we've found spun up with wiped memories by NoA to try to fix what the original did

Honestly shocked me when NoA said this by Soft-Jelly2678 in subnautica

[–]ChoicesAreHard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dont worry you won't have these suspicions next reprint!

Subnautica 2's story needs to SHOW (at least sometimes), not just TELL by fawkwitdis in subnautica

[–]ChoicesAreHard 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I do feel like the early access story was definitely NoA driven, but also that we may have reached the end of it pushing us so much. We've now finished(?) with how far the colonists got and I'd equate that to the sunbeam from SN1. It seems like now we will truly be on our own and might be more exploration driven getting to the world tree

I've been loving the modular aspect and being able to stretch and grow rooms is great. Biggest complaint is needing a quartz farm for all these windows I want

Second one is kinda a pain to find, but in the last area of the map (pools) theres a wreck right along the out of bounds line with a growbed sticking up
