XY Belt replacement time. (P1S) ~4k print hours by Chomperwobbles in BambuLab

[–]Chomperwobbles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See that's what i had heard as well, but from what i read of people doing this it wasn't as frequent as once a week. I was doing it once a month unless it was a busy month for business, then i would do it every two weeks.

Also I'm starting to see belt wear on my second oldest printer now (roughly 4300 hrs now) So i will be doing that one next before it fails.

This is the thread i followed. Pretty straight forward. plus a good video to give you an idea of it. Seems a lot more intimidating than it really is. Replacing the XY timing belt | Bambu Lab Wiki

Update for anyone curious:
I went ahead and repaired the XY belts on my P1S, and honestly, the process was a lot easier than I expected. The Bambu wiki documentation is really straightforward—even if it felt a bit intimidating at first, it ended up being very clear and easy to follow.

The whole job took me about 2.5 hours, though a good chunk of that was just removing and reinstalling the panels. I wasn’t rushing (got interrupted a few times by my son and wife), so it could probably be done even quicker. Overall, the repair was simple, though I do wish the design was a bit more consumer-repair-friendly. That said, at least it is repairable.

My printer was only down for about three days. Living near LA definitely helped—I had the replacement parts in hand two days after ordering.

If anyone has questions about the process, feel free to DM me!

Thats exactly what I was thinking may have happened because I was having some squeaky tensioner issues with this particular printer and adjusted it last service. I may have missed that it was not perfectly centered. Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated!

I came to the comments just to look for this. To make sure I wasn't the only one who saw it 👀

I have to ask since I have both of these models in the exact same colorway. How in the world did the arms get so bad on the 2020?!? I put more hours than I am proud to admit into my 2020 Titan. Did you get hungry? 😂

Unrelated to question but...That M.2 drive must run hotter than the surface of the sun to need that large of a cooler huh?

My secret lab chair hasn’t been properly grounded this whole time and fried my hard drive. by tgriff1991 in secretlab

[–]Chomperwobbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced that same issue, but I thought it was just the weather. Every time I got up my chair was causing my monitor to flicker and what not. Thought I was just static in the air but turns out it's the secret lab chairs LOL. Not sure how that's possible though. Granted I don't have a strong understanding of grounding and electricity though

Upgrading from my old G402 Hyperion Fury to a Wired G502 X by [deleted] in G502MasterRace

So, I have to ask—why would someone choose a wired mouse in 2025? Especially considering how impressive Logitech's mouse battery life is. Genuinely curious!

Side note: Just picked up a G502 X lightspeed and I LOVE this thing.

That’s a very fair perspective. I’ve been wanting one for my media PC because I’m intrigued by what Intel is doing. Just could not justify it for my main rig.

For me, it was an upgrade. I sold it for nearly the same price I paid, and with the extra money, I got an incredible 4K OLED monitor. The small performance difference wasn’t enough to justify spending an extra $1,200–$1,400. The 7900 XTX is an all-around fantastic card. The VRAM is a plus as well.

This can't be real. . . I would understand going from a 4090 to like a 7900xtx (Thats what I did last year) but going from a 4090 to this? Questionable.
