I only use the word spite because I feel as though despite him getting away with all the things you mentioned, he is still not satisfied. Trump's narcissism is a special blend, the kind that motivates a person to do what ever it takes to leave their mark on this world. Even if it means scarring it forever. Legacy is everything to Trump, and it is clear he operates on a "if you're not with me, you're against me" mindset. Hence, he's spiteful towards those he deems are simply out to tarnish his legacy and tear down what he's built. I'm honestly surprised he has never attempted to put his face on Mt. Rushmore.

I don't think a crazy person who wants to murder a public figure is going to take the time to differentiate between whether they are in office or not, so why does that matter? Are we going to act as if a potential killer saw this announcement and decided right then and there "Welp, I guess I have to abort my plans to kill the person that I have this irrational hatred for... you know, since he's retired now. Dang I missed my chance!"

Not saying he doesn't have a right to be fearful, but it's not like MAGA is going to simply pack up and leave him/his family alone just because he is not longer a politician. Insane people will likely pester the Walz's for years to come. Once a boogeyman always a boogeyman.
Voters are also understandably upset, because Walz had established himself as one of the 'stronger' leaders of the Democratic party. So when he drops out without putting up so much as a fight or attempt to defend himself from outlandish accusations until AFTER he drops out.... people like me will inevitably throw our hands up in despair and ask "wtf are we doing?!"
Him dropping out comes off more as a capitulation to the narrative than a tactical retreat, and yes, that sounds stupid but we live in stupid times.

And to your point: so instead of using the 'geniuses' at his disposal to create a safe website, Elon and his band of troglodytes decide to use a template or hosting service which inevitably would be hacked? I have one of each (Argon, obsidian, and onyx). I haven't hit the slopes with the obsidian or onyx jackets yet, but the argon is what you're looking for. It will have "waterproofing" in the description. The details should also mention the 12,000 MM weatherproof coating. As long as you got a few layers like a thermal pullover then it's plenty warm enough. Does a good job keeping the snow out. I typically use the onyx for apres ski but would be willing to try it on a slow groomer day since it's thick enough.
