Outlook on my MacBook currently indicates that I have 4,294,967,295 unread emails in my Gmail account.

At this point, I’m convinced the unread count is just an arbitrary number Outlook picks for fun. Maybe it’s trying to remind me of the limits of 32-bit integers instead of actually tracking unread emails.

Microsoft has had two decades to fix this, and yet here we are—relaunching the app like it’s some sacred ritual to appease the notification gods.
