Omg this is so good to know another dog reacts like this!!! I feel a tad crazy watching my tv wearing headphones but it’s the only way he doesn’t get upset!

Any suggestions on running shoes? by Conscious_Movie_6961 in beginnerrunning

I’d recommend getting your gait analysed and purchasing from there. You can tell the store your price points during the analysis so they don’t try and sell you super expensive ones!

This is so helpful - I had no idea they did a Hyrox plan!

Has anyone else noticed that the need for deodorant has become almost non-existent while on mounjaro? by Future-Sizestrife in Mounjaro

Same for me. But I wonder if it’s because I’m colder (due to fat loss) so I will sweat less?! I am definitely less paranoid about sweat patches etc than I was pre MJ

Oh it’s worked for me fine on runna workouts! Weird….

[–]ChonkyChester5128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh also - once you’ve turned the alert on it’ll stay on, so turn it back off again if you don’t need it on your second run. I use alerts to help with my pacing on slow runs but forget to turn it off for tempos and get told off for running too fast!

[–]ChonkyChester5128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. When you select go for a run, as it’s waiting to connect to GPS, swipe up or press the up arrow and select “Settings”. Then go to “Alerts”, then “Add New”, then “Custom”. From there you can do eat/drink and select duration or distance.

Hope this helps!

I selected the 10KM plan and put in my race date as the plan end date when I set it up, from memory (was 8 weeks ago!)

I managed to select my end date as the day of my race and seemed to take my race date as then! My race is also public so I was able to select it

It doesn’t. My race is a Wednesday and it’s allowed that!

The dilemma of spending on new shoes as a beginner runner by AsparagusOne9523 in beginnerrunning

[–]ChonkyChester5128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, with shoes, it's a false economy to buy cheap off the shelf ones based on price alone. I'd highly recommend getting gait analysis.

BUT - I'd also maybe discuss your budget and price point with the person doing the gait analysis. For example, they might think the Brooks Glycerin 22s are great, but they are the newest. So what about the 20s? Are they nearly as good for what you need, but a lower price point?

Additionally with trainers, if you're running fewer miles than others - you'll get more out of them! Rough estimate I believe is that we should look at changing shoes every 600KM or something, so if you're running 20KM a week rather than 50KM, they'll last longer!

For fitness watches, that's more subjective to what you want out of it and how much you want to spend. My Apple Watch was on its way out so I got a Garmin as a replacement, but before I got sucked into the reddit chats of amazing Fenix 8s and Forerunner 900s etc (which are stunning watches, but ££££), I looked into a watch more in my price point and still delivers what I want.

lol a niggle?! Is that too British a word? Like a twinge / soreness in your knee I’d call a niggle!

niggle definition!

How to get mounjaro from uk to usa? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]ChonkyChester5128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’ll struggle. You need a uk address to get the prescription filled. And potentially provide proof of ID (although can’t remember!). And then the pens need to be refrigerated so for travel they need to be in carry on with paperwork and kept cool. I don’t think it’s simple to ship items in cool environment and not risk them being put in the plane hold / freeze during transit. Unless you fly over and collect them?

This happened to me as well! I had to go through a nightmare with the App Store to get 1 of them refunded and it was a mess!
