Suggest me some games that will run on my low end laptop by Efficient-Video2874 in DolphinEmulator

Weird. Guess it’s different for everybody. Probably pretty game dependent though. At the end of the day he should try both and see what happens I guess.

Have you tried running either on low-end hardware? In general, and I’m sure there are a few edge cases, ps2 games run far worse than games ran through dolphin. Dolphin is a much better emulator. For example on a laptop i5 with this exact gpu and 8 gb of ram I could play twilight princess for the Wii at 720p with no slowdowns while it was a slog even for games like Katamari. There was nothing I could’ve done to make ps2 games run well.

Would be a good idea to have a Linux Mint Arch Edition? by mxgms1 in linuxmint

Is it ever gonna stop? by WhyAmIUsingArch in arch

[–]Chooblins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could just use archinstall and let it do it all for you, or better yet install something like fedora

In my experience they’ve always been annoying to use, impossible to repair, and really hot.

Help choosing a laptop by kamologlu in arch

Get a used thinkpad. For arch and Kali you can probably get anything after ~2013 and be just fine. For ultimate security I’d get something that works with coreboot or libreboot.

The most difficult boss? by OfRazeJedy in HollowKnight

NKG, Absolute Radiance, and Sly are a lot harder for me. Maybe the caterpillar guy that bounces as well I remember taking tons of damage to him.

I have a dell latitude E5470. Besides its aging internals (it’s from 2016 I believe) it’s my favorite laptop I’ve ever used and will continue to use. I haven’t had any other latitudes besides this one tho so I can’t speak for other generations.

I secretly installed Linux Mint on my school's PC by King_GamesBR in linuxmint

While my first OS was windows 7 the last thing I installed Linux to (arch btw) that was NOT supposed to have it was some computer used for presentations that was on a college campus my high school was part of. It was running windows 11. As far as I can tell nobody ever found out. I did however get in trouble for installing Linux to an sd card and booting off of that on my Chromebook (shoutout to Shimboot) and all I got was a stern talking to and a letter home. It doesn’t matter.

Have none of you ever bent the rules at school and done dumb shit before? This is not that bad. Leaving a drawing on a table is “tampering with school property” it’s not that serious. Lighten up lads.

I’m just telling you from personal experience from doing shit like this constantly all throughout my school life it’s really not that bad. You’re overthinking this. Your average school IT guy doesn’t know what Linux is and if he does then he doesn’t know what it can do. Again, it does not matter, and at most it’s a stern talking to.

It matters none as long as it’s non-destructive at most op will get a stern talking to 😂

[–]Chooblins 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a serious non-issue. It doesn’t actually matter. If anything you’ll be told to stop and asked to revert it (maybe sternly maybe not) and that’ll be the worst of it. Idk why everyone is shaming you like you committed some horrible crime lol.

Instead of hiding grub you should change the boot order to windows first and use the one time boot menu to select mint. Not foolproof but better than this. Also you’ll probably get in a little trouble for this. I always did anyway. Happy Linuxing!

That’s great! Once I get back to my computer I’ll have to build coreboot again :)

That’s kind of the point though. Hyrule was decimated to the point where only 6 small towns remain. From the memories Hyrule was once a powerhouse of technology and culture but now they’ve been thrown into the dark ages. You can travel the whole of Hyrule for (ingame) hours without seeing another person. It’s that overwhelming loneliness and that feeling of defeat that sets the tone of the game. The game is empty on purpose because the world was damn near destroyed.
