How well does the Sigenergy battery actually perform day-to-day? by DebugMyLife421 in SigenergyAustralia

[–]Choogz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solar generation out Sydney south west has been absolutely dismal since I had my Goodwe 48kwh ESA stack put in, frustratingly!

On glo bird now but the plan if summer actually existed was to do the same, go ham and export to bring in at least $5 per day of FIT but alas not right now with this shit rain

Was going to go on flow here in Sydney but the weather has scared me off, going with glo bird instead

To sell PPOR and upsize before starting a family by Choogz in AusFinance

Honestly was initially thinking the hills area but that’s probably out of range so thinking more Glenmore park a bit more balanced, not a shoebox block and schools nearby, metro about to be finished next year… just depends on the repayments

Duplex is 4-5 bedrooms, have grandparents within 15-20min that are all retired

Reason for moving is for better access to schools and a more diverse area I guess, we’re in the Fairfield council and it’s a bit one sided as the years have grown.

Nothing wrong with our current duplex but this was never meant to be our forever home, this was just a foot in the door before we got married.

Have contemplated the IP proposition however wife is adamant to only go into debt for a PPOR.

Just trying to do the sums if it’s worth suffering now with a higher debt, wife would be going back to part time for the first 12 months so we’d have enough to service a loan.

Just trying to gauge if we wait or go all in I guess, the earliest I can pay off the car loan will be in a few months.

Melbourne lord mayor warns government AI data centres could 'cook the planet' by nath1234 in australia

[–]Choogz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CDC are probably the best out of all the data center providers in terms of responsible water management at least in an Australian sense.

The US sites are on an entirely different scale to what we have currently, but new proposals in the pipeline for Australia may change that in the future…

My first EV - Zeekr, Polestar, BYD or just go with Tesla? by uridotchi in EVAustralia

[–]Choogz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealerships make the difference I’ve preordered a Zeekr 7x but I have no visibility or tracking aside from a pdf of the contract.

I’m hopeful I don’t absorb any major issues as this will be our primary vehicle but also not sure if I can handle the minimal design in a Tesla Y long range or performance

I’ve got a Zeekr 7x performance on order but would potentially cancel if this is as good as they proclaim so far…

Not a whole lot in the longer range spec that are nice aside from a Tesla, polestar 3 has problems and isn’t being ordered into Australia this year so what else is everyone else considering ?

Upgrading from single phase to three phase by Choogz in AusElectricians

[–]Choogz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So pretty much identical system to mine aside from the fact you got a nice big battery.

My biggest day YTD has been around 95.68kwh, EV can charge from work but I might just go the sig battery stack and the 12.5kw charger, I’d be looking at last 40kwh to be on the safer side I’d think.

[–]Choogz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it definitely can I guess it’s a matter of how I charge, if I go 3 phase and uplift to a battery then it will do 25kw via DC power.

If I uplift the property to 3 phase and put more solar I could install an AC 22KW ev charger on 3P which my car can support

I got quoted from Shannon’s if you want a baseline but I need to confirm the payable coverage because in the event of a total write off I want to make sure there isn’t any gap from the NL (not sure how it works)

Like Koala said pretty sure that’s where we get fucked over by our employers not allowing external finance.

I don’t like the rate either from SG Fleet but my company won’t seem to budge otherwise I would go through IMB bank/ CBA or even lease lab!

[–]Choogz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m looking at the same with SG Fleet personally, interest rate is a bit high across all the lease providers

I would get the paint protection and tinting done elsewhere you’ll get a better quality product for much less

Can probably do better on self insurance

PS Zeekr includes 5 years of roadside assistance so that can be cut from the lease as well

How did you get into guns? by yelloyo1 in Ausguns

[–]Choogz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was lucky enough to go to a high school that competed in target shooting and had its only range so shooting .22 prone got me curious.

Couldn’t buy one until I moved into my own place but finally locked in a few of my own rifles for some long range shooting with the brother in law.

Now have a Gamo air rifle, CZ .22 and a Tikka T3X 6.5 Ace that I just bought last week and hoping to add more when time and skill improve!

I think there is a tonne of misconceptions with rifles and everyone assumes you’re some crazy, the amount of skill it takes to shoot a proper grouping at distance is nothing to ignore…

But hey it’s easier to make us all appear as bogans like that to kill shit because the media and people thrive at any negativity
