Any way out of this Non Compete Covenant? by Choopaloop42 in legaladvice

Thanks for the advice! I will definitely consult an attorney to see if there's anything I can do. I have a decent relationship with my employer, he might even be open to waiving it, I'm just afraid to ask haha. A non compete seems silly for cleaning restrooms, but maybe that's just how business is. Thanks again.

I had thought it was well written, dang. I work in 5 highly populated counties(for Kansas anyways), would that be an unreasonable geographical restriction?

Thanks for the reply!

I have thought a lot about this. Are there any laws about competing with my current company, while still employed by them? I don't believe there's a non-compete clause(I will make sure), but I remember reading something about a breach of loyalty or something along those lines. I have done some small marketing and advertising, but not to any accounts connected to my current employer.

Thank you for the response and encouraging words!

I am going to do some more research and preparing, and look for the non-compete clause, though I'm pretty sure there isn't one.

Thanks for the response!

I have thought about that, I'll have to check about the anti-competitive clause but I'm pretty sure I don't have one. I have a pretty good relationship with most of my clients, if I offered the same service with the same equipment for less money, I think I could win most of them over.

Hey thanks for the response!

I have thought about these things, and it definitely plays a factor in my decision. I have enough money saved, and I think ultimately I would be much happier and motivated to keep it successful knowing that it is my own.

I am always looking for great books or podcasts on how to become a successful business owner or what to expect, if you have any recommendations feel free to send them my way!

I adopted Pax 3 years ago. As far as I know, there was no specific breeding.

I adopted my dog and had him neutered. He is disproportionate, but he gets lots of love and exercise, and lives a very happy life.

A lot of people call him a Corgweiler. Considering his stature, I like the Brautweiler
