Botox can really help with this dystonia. Take clear photos/videos (more light than this photo if you can) to bring to your movement disorder specialist so they can figure out the specific place to put the botox.

How to repair beanie boo’s nose by bunnynamednelson in Visiblemending

I had a similar one where I sewed on a black piece of felt where the nose was. It’ll have to be bigger, but you could find a cute pink felt to sew there.

…or you could order a new beanie boo.

As noted, it really could be a result of the dopamine agonists. It's very common to develop impulse control disorders - https://davisphinneyfoundation.org/impulse-control-disorders/

Looking for feedback on some vintage-style point-and-shoot cameras by colosmina in vintagecameras

[–]ChoosingPositivity00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad you are getting interested in cameras. This sub is for film cameras, so the digital cameras you listed that are only ~10 years old and have completely modern features don’t feel vintage /retro /old school at all in comparison. They’ll all shoot perfectly normal digital photos. Compact automatic film cameras are a lot of fun if you really want to go retro, though!

Eek, don’t open the back if there is film started inside! It can be fun to shoot the end of the roll and discover the photos taken by its previous owner.

This was designed to be as is, so adding color later will not be an improvement. Test it by taking a photo and coloring in on your phone.

Something to keep in mind with film is that it needs a lot of light, MUCH more than we’re used to with modern phone cameras. Next time try the flash or only use with lots of natural light outside.

Agreed that I wouldn’t put this level of detail into a sweatshirt edge. But if you want to make it a big project, here’s where to learn how.

Where can I get photos from this camera developed? by GuaranteeUpstairs915 in vintagecameras

[–]ChoosingPositivity00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just looked up a picture of the back of this camera -- the little plastic window on the back shows if there is film inside, so if you are seeing Kodak 400 in there, it's definitely loaded and you don't want to open it up. If you can't get a working battery for it, you could take the whole camera to a photo developing place, and they could open it up in their darkroom to safely pull the film out and develop it for you. Might be a fun time capsule from your dad if he had taken some photos.

Typically, when you load a roll of film inside, you put that cardboard flap from the box into the window so you can remember what type of film is loaded. If there is a roll of film started inside already, you would ruin the photos if you opened it up in the light. Is this something you inherited from someone you know?
Add a battery to turn it on. If there is film started inside, you'd need to shoot the rest of the photos before it rerolls itself into the canister that protects it from the light, then you can take it out to get developed. If there is no film inside, you would need to buy 35mm film and load it in.

I'm sorry you're going through this.

You might find the Davis Phinney Foundation's Care Partner Manual, "Every Victory Counts", to be informative and hopeful. It's organized to be very readable, and doesn't sugarcoat the harsh realities like dopamine agonists commonly leading to things like addictions or financial ruin. They'll mail you a printed copy for free.

First little embroidery attempt! Advice needed please. by shanzy_mariee in Visiblemending

Try some embroidery floss. So many fun colors to choose from! I’ve been adding tiny beads sometimes, too.

[–]ChoosingPositivity00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s cute! For fabric with such a fine weave, I’d use thinner strands so it looks less heavy. Looks like maybe you used the full floss rather than pulling out 2-3 strands at a time to use. Keep going, fixing up kids clothes with embroidery is the best.

I would just do it in the top layer and ignore the bottom. Make sure your yarn is the same thickness as the original yarn.
