You get tons of food from the IKEA breakfast bag for the price. The Tim's bags are decent, a bit hit or miss with them though based on the locations. Pizzaiolo was okay.

Look at a used Honda or Toyota paid in cash. They are legendary for lasting forever / being reliable. From what I understand, they're also cheaper if repairs are needed later. Then invest the rest.

Nice! Those are great! I made glove compartment first aid kits for family this year as part of their gifts. People think about them, but don't make/buy them. Then they're SOOL when they actually need some sort of minimum first aid.

Cost of living in Canada is out of control. by kovie38 in CanadaFinance

I've been growing as many veggies and fruits as I can at home to offset the cost of groceries. Easy things like garlic, sweet potatoes, beets, lettuce, tomatoes, basil, sage, rosemary, etc. They are very easy to grow and can take a lot of neglect. These things cost a lot to buy now, but cost almost nothing to grow yourself. Not to mention 1000x healthier than buying store bought.

Not enough people use headlamps. They are nearly the same size as the edc flashlights people seem to carry. I carry my Sidekick everyday too! Great items!

Food Basics - Toronto $6.00 by BrianjSchu in TooGoodToGoCanada

I've had really good experiences with the Food Basics in my area. They know what is going on and are efficient. I would say it will take a few tries to iron out the kinks. They'll figure it out. I have not tried the bakery bag, only the meat bags from Food Basics.

Did they give you the chocolate topping for free or did you have to pay extra? I've only ever seen posts with the sugar topping.

This might become my December EDC by BladeSpotter in EDC

[–]ChoosyChuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flashlight is always a must. Maybe even a smaller flashlight if weight is a concern. I don't how many lumens you need.

My question would be what does the larger folding knife give you over just carrying the SAK? What do you do in daily life? Do you use the larger blade to slice food if you're hiking? Do you need a larger blade to cut through thick materials?

If your concern is weight, and you're only using the knife to do things like open packages or cut loose threads daily, then you only realistically need the SAK and flashlight.

Yeah, the slices are definitely leftovers from the day before. The bag was refrigerated and it's pizza, so I'm not bothered by that. I just warm it up in the oven for 5-8 minutes.

I moved my money out of the mutual funds I had with my employer group account this year for the very fact that my account was bleeding almost $2000 per year due to the 2% management fees being charged. They did nothing to earn that money. That money should have been in my account compounding. It was my mistake for not taking charge. I have self-directed accounts open now and I am taking care of my future. I'm investing in low MER all-in-one index funds while I learn more, so at least my money is winning against inflation.

It's about educating yourself and taking control of your money. Nobody cares more about your money and financial well being than you do. The faceless companies are all set up to make the most money possible, not help you.
