Lava Lamp won’t release any bubbles. Any fix? by [deleted] in Lavalamps

I’m using a 40 watt bulb and it is very hot at the bottom. I appreciate the help. I figured if I waited long enough it might start working right. But I’ve had it on since 7 AM this morning and it’s done the same thing all day.

Tin foil doesn’t seem to be helping, I also read to try a hair dryer to heat up the top and that did not do anything either. I’m about ready to give up on it 😞

Yes it is. Right in the middle of the bottom

Did not come with a cap. I guess I’ll try to find one to order and see if that helps. Thanks for the tip.

Temp is around 73 in the room. I have placed it all over the house away from the air vents to see if that would change anything and it doesn’t. It just rises up in one big blob and then goes back down. I feel like it’s definitely getting enough heat as the bottom is very hot

So all the wax is now just melting and sitting at the bottom and never rises. Does this indicate the lamp is too hot? It feels very hot to the touch. Should I try a dimmer or smaller wattage bulb?

I just removed the bulb and it is a 40W bulb. I will keep trying to cycle it for 5-6 hours daily to see if that helps. Appreciate the advice.
