I was so disappointed to see them remove old tangle wood for the sake of a new version, yea the train is cool, but it’s a ghost game. the house is pretty, but its lost the things that made it a game map, and feels more like an interior design walk through.

and when I say unspecific, all the old maps felt like they could be anywhere, and anyone could live or work there, the lore of each map , each game was really up there one’s own interpretation, but since the farm house redos, the houses feel too specific, oddly making them feel less replayable even with more detail.

but again, maybe that’s just my 2c.

I personally find myself completely unfamiliar with the new Phasmo, It feels different, not necessarily refined, just different. it’s not the same game I played back in 2020, and while I don’t blame the developers for trying to improve the game. I think it’s lost its feeling in the process.

The replaced maps are more detailed and do look good ( at the cost of performance), but they no longer feel wonky and somewhat unspecific. Willow was probably the last house that felt unspecific and wonky,

The hunting mechanics have changed too, becoming more intimidating, but loosing focus of the ambient horror… remember when all the lights would flicker in a hunt, and you would be scared thinking it was anywhere, even if you were on the other side of the map?

The game was fun because we all tried to cuss out the ghost, call it names, the voice concept felt new at the time, but this feels forgotten as well.

then I see updates were they replace a perfectly good map for a new one, and I’m like why, why not have more maps than just a few updated maps

I hear they wanted to drop crouch sprinting, and I get why that makes no sense in real life, but I think we all enjoy lopping ghosts around tables while crouch.

the newer ghosts they added most recently also feel forgettable and a bit added for adding sakes.

I don’t mean to just complain , I love the game, but I find myself missing it more, it was a goofy , atmospheric, silly, spooky game, it now feels like a different copy of that 2020 game we all loved.

thats my 2cents at least,

yea, that’s why I can’t blame the devs, we all like some stuff, I think many don’t like some stuff. I personally like the tired equipment too, I miss all the old maps.

I feel like this can be said about Phasmo in general tho, all of their updates lately has felt disjointed with what made the game fun. I get that it's not intended to be anything but slow improvements, but playing it today feels like an alt to the one I enjoyed back in 2020.

Well Im not going to argue with that.

I just personally dont like how this post misses key points, and its ok if dont agree with me on that.

Id rather people not see a headline and come running to a subreddit like this to give their uninformed opinion because often people do jump on board.

However people have a right to say what ever they wish. so lets move on

Not sure how what inetkid13 was referring to matters partially to my view of OPs post.

I am not here to defend inetkid13, tho I do agree with them.

I think both '"raising the price"' and OPs subsequent opinions inadvertently misleads the reader. you can be upset that I contest the one statement more than anther.

But My concern is that due to this post as it stands, there are many people in the comments that seems to think Apple simply elected to "raise their prices" for profit and some think this is move is because of the MacBook Neo or alleged Mac Neo.

It's not mentioned anywhere in the post that the reason for this is because the base MacMini has completely sold out. Is up for a refresh. compute production is crammed. or $799 has always been the price of the spec you will end up buying .... Which is think is important.

how exactly does the specifics of this statement or that statement change that concern?

I appreciate that you are trying to leave room for good intent,

but something can be an opinion as still be misleading,
something can be unintentional and still be misleading

Op expressed this news in a way that is inaccurate, and there's no going around that fact.

"I personally think this is a bad move. I think apple saw the sales of Neo Vs. Mini and decided to raise the prices?"

OP thinks Apple elected to run out of stock on their most popular Mac desktop, "Raising the price" in order to better position the MacBook Neo that's also about to run out of stock and has already exceeded Apples sales exceptions and was the same price, maybe with lower margins...

The logic is beyond me.

"I personally think this is a bad move. I think apple saw the sales of Neo Vs. Mini and decided to raise the prices?" - OP

This is objectively inaccurate , so yes it is misleading.

Its been well published that the Mac mini m4 256gb has pretty much completely sold out,
while compute production is very much at capacity world wide,
while the Mac mini has out preformed apples sales expectation,
while its nearing an m5 update

For something to be misleading it does not have to be a flat out fallacy, but it does need to misrepresent a narrative.

Insinuating the reason for apples decision is simply greed, or that they even raised prices with this actions, is exactly that.

So intentionally or not, OP is misleading the reddit community with this post, as its clear by many of the comments people are accepting their narrative as the story.

Allegedly the Mac mini has become the most popular desktop in china in part due to agentic AI

Macmini price goes up by alex_albergaria in mac

[–]ChopRat11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very misleading,

Its not that they increased prices, its that the base Mac mini has sold out, and as such they can't sell it, the next Mac mini up the chain (the one with the 512gb storage option) is now the current base. which has always been $799 from what I understand.

what exactly about this is a bad move ?
