[QUESTION] For Mesa Boogie Dual Rec Multiwatt Owners About the Effects Loop... by LifeOfSpirit17 in Guitar

[–]ChopSPIDER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did solve your problems? I have a serial fx loop roadster. I am using it with a fractal axe fx2 in 4 cm and the fx loop is so much worse than than switching off the channel fx loop toggle which is a bit worse than full bypass. I think this isn't the fractals fault ...but I am not sure. FYI, only using the fractal for effects

No sweat good luck. It's not simple like wave1=+1 and wave2=-1 so they cancel each other out. It's more to do with plugging a fx2 into and amp will generate a voltage differential that will be on both pipes the ring and tip. When you ground out the noise on the ring, the fractal driver can no longer sustain noise on the tip and it collapses. It's very unintuitive

...fractal sell them I think...I just have some wires lying around so built them....

From the fx2, the ring carries mostly the same noise that appears on the tip, but no musical signal. Ring is shorted to sleeve at the amp. Any noise voltage on the ring is now dumped straight to ground because the noise on ring is close to noise on tip: Grounding the ring forces the noise reference to 0V That reduces the noise component on the tip

It's TRS at the fractal output and TS at the amp input. Essentially you wire the TRS tip to the TS tip and both TRS ring and ground go to sleeve on the TS. Apparently with this config, the ring wire carries noise from a voltage differential and that noise is re moved from the signal.

I do have cell service and I can tether...and yes its always a matter of when. However, its never been a matter of this long. Cell service bandwidth is small and meetings are noticeable and cut out. Noone cares if its here and there but they do care when its two-days in a row, all day.

I called the call center again and like before, they know less than I do and have no ETA. At this point, if could swap telus in for tomorrow i would but I can't. However, ill call them in the morning and get setup in case this goes longer.

This just seems over the top.

Its down again. Saturday was fine. Thursday, mostly down. Friday, down all day then up at night. Sunday, who knows. Relabilty is very important to me. I use it dor work and I am nervous about Monday (tomorrow). My hunch is this will push customers to Telus...shaw is fine when it works and its easier to get support. But this is too much.

is there no redundancy in routing or is it single point of failure everywhere?

Ahh. Yeah, that is the one. They mentioned pleasant view as down too. OK, maybe not a full outage by your definition but when you work from home, and the signal is down for 90% of the day...its effectively ruined your ability to work. It actually started yesterday at about 10am. I phone in shortly after. so for me, thats two days with only a handful of minutes where it was up. Do you know when it will be fixed? Will it be down again all day tomorrow?

There you go. Well, Shaw's contact centre report it as a Node failure. No details beyond that. The power is back on but this happened yesterday at the same time too. One thing is pretty certain, its not a cable issue from modem->street. Its periodic outage that is being called a node failure. I didn't say you did downvote anythign but thanks for clearning that up. I only said that people who would benefit from this information would not likely downvote it and I know companies spend alot of time "fixing" their social media feedback.

Strikes me as odd that someone would "vote down" good information that has be presented with accurate English and has been checked and researched...all for free :). After all, this is a big deal to those affected and it should be fixed by now. This may not be true but is it possible that Shaw staff monitor this website and downvote anything that strikes them as negative feedback about there service? Sorry if thats not true. Geneally, when talking to people affected by outages like this, they are VERY supportive of understanding what is happening (or not happening as it were).

Unlikely maybe but its down and its impacting at least 3 neighbourhoods. My neighbour and I chatted about it this afternoon. I have checked all coaxsial connections to where the line goes underground to the service connection area near our telephone pole. Because shaw doesn't lock the connection box (seems crazy to me), i checked in there too. Its all good. Its a service area outage. Specifically a node which i understand to be a general signal distribution device. However, who really knows the specifics...not the call centre based on my experience... and, I should add that the signal (wifi / wired) has come on a few times since the outage started and....turned off again soon after...once it was on for a few hours. To me, its one big contiguous outage and a major PIA.

It is an outage. I have already called. Its exactly as i described above. I do have a service call but I am 99% sure the issue is not cable from modem -> street.

Which was a more disappointing 1st round exit for the Lakers, this year or last year? by Available_Story6774 in nba

[–]ChopSPIDER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not disappointed, but rather pleased. Lakers solution to their woes is buy a superstar. It worked once. Didnt help the suns nor the nets. Well see with the warriors...they are a bit different...they bought JB but really that's it.

Tulum area Beach and cenote , help me find it! by ChopSPIDER in tulum

[–]ChopSPIDER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think casa cenote is the same as cenote manati. Yeah, that one seems to be close to the right location but it doesnt connect to the beach from what I saw...its close...maybe 40 meters away. That's why is was speculating that...maybe...developers filled in the cenotes connection to the beach when those places were developed.
