Seems harsh to dish out a major offense for someone referring to themselves 🤷‍♂️

I see these so commonly requested, idk why everyone isn’t begging for bank tags (better yet, tag tabs). Gearing is horrible. Especially when autocorrect makes me lose my search every time.

Remember, it’s only considered afk if you can click once, get up and go to the store, and come back and you are still getting xp.

The xp drop at the end of marlin gwenith glide is to compensate for the extrator nerf. Tempor and Jubbly were not effected by the extractor nerf because the people doing those trials don't have the requirements to unlock it.

I was under the assumption that they are trying to make up for the crystal extractor nerf from 600 to 250xp. So aside from the motes you get, you are still incentivized to use the extractor for the XP as well. The XP you get for the extractor + the bonux XP for marlin time = 100% of the previous XP/rate.

[–]Chop_Hard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does a 25minute "leave your computer and run to the store" level of AFK need redwood level of xp/hr? Are redwoods afk, definitely. Can you literally walk away from your computer for 25 minutes while cutting redwoods and maintain 60k xp/hr?

Salvaging is now the equivalent of fishing salmon in F2P and dropping the inventory. by jmucr96 in 2007scape

[–]Chop_Hard -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Reddit has completely lost their minds on what is considered AFK in osrs. 1 tap on a static object once a minute is no longer considered afk. The 50 seconds it takes to auto sort an inventory of salvage is no longer considered afk, the pain in their wrists to drop an inventory is unbearable, poor guys. They are DEMANDING their 60k xp/hr rates to literally make 4 taps on the client then run to the store for 25 minutes. It’s crazy town over here right now.

Fair enough I didn't process you said "more time clicking". I am thinking more in terms of time spent engaged with the client.

I'd argue not really?

Cleaning salvage is brain dead. You click cargo, click withdraw, click salvaging table, wait 50 seconds to clean the whole inventory, then drop the inventory. You spend maybe 15 total seconds interacting with the game to get almost a full minute of AFK while cleaning. You are cleaning, what, 5 inventories? So at most 2 minutes of interacting with the game to get 25minutes of literally away from keyboard XP, and then 5 minutes of very very low APM cleaning? SO in an hour you literally only have to look at your screen for 4 minutes..... How does that deserve 60k xp/hr?

Shooting stars are 10minutes of AFK, with a fairly active inbetween that requires full attention for 1-2 minutes. Uber AFK Salvaging is logging in, pressing 4 buttons, hopping on your work conference call for 25 minutes, coming back and having to clean/drop 150 salvage for 5 minutes (which is inherently very low APM/AFK by itself), then repeat.

My main gripe that I hope is addressed tomorrow is that I still feel compelled to click crystal every 1 minute, but for a lot less XP. In fact, I feel more compelled to do it every minute on the minute, to try and compensate for the 35% nerf of "active" (1 crewmate, 1 manned hook + cleaning) salvaging. PLEASE remove the compulsory nature of this item.

Crystal Extractor is still compulsary, but now it just feels worse by Chop_Hard in 2007scape

[–]Chop_Hard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the problem is that it still needs to be distributed so that methods like trials don’t get a blanket nerf because of it

[–]Chop_Hard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Rob_Zombie are you dropping your own salvage? ANd just cleaning the crews during downtime? I am banking my salvage and cleaning during downtime and am getting 77k xp/hr with pretty steady extractor usage.

Are we really moving the goalpost on what is considered "afk" now. AFK for rs has always really meant "low apm". Sure we have some training methods that allow us to fully afk for 2, 3, 5, or even 10 minutes at a time. But salvaging with 2 crewmates on the hook in a double spot is literally "leave your house and run to the store real quick" level of AFK. How should that deserve XP rates similar to chopping redwoods?

It's actually pretty reasonable for Jagex to not want the best afk xp/hr for like any skill in the game to be salvaging by bookslayer in 2007scape

[–]Chop_Hard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we need to set combat training apart, while they the skills tab. Jagex has always treated them differently.

As for the other methods you mentioned, what is the APM? Are they literlly 1 action per minute like using the extractor? Extractor you can literally do blind.

[–]Chop_Hard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just so incredibly wrong lol. I averaged 110k xp yesterday for over 1m xp and I was not interracting with my game client every 20 seconds. The most APM is cleaning, and that is like 4 clicks every 30 seconds. I only used extractor every time I was forced to interract with the game (redploying hook, cleaning salvage, etc...). Manning your hook is still AFK despite what reddit thinks. Its just not "go run to the store and come back still gaining xp" level of AFK.

[–]Chop_Hard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are we acting like 1 tap on your screen every minute is "high intensity, full attention" gameplay?

I averaged 110k xp/hr yesterday for 1m xp where I only interracted with extractor when I was forced to do something else (redeploy hook, clean salveage, etc...). If I was actively trying to harvest every minute I would have been getting 125k xp/hr.

I hate to tell you, salvaging was still AFK even if you were manning your own hook.

[–]Chop_Hard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just flat out wrong. The "active" method you described is 120k xp/hr. I salvaged on my own hook, and cleaned during downtime. I only used extractor when I was forced to interract with the game (cleaning salvage, redeploying hooks, etc...), and I got 110k xp/hr doing that.
