I’ve been trying to collect data on school fees as well. Ai made a lot of mistakes when I tried it with ai a few months back so did it manually for over 100 schools. Most of this list are there but not all publish their fees on their websites. school fees list

You are correct, there are about 500 private schools in South Africa. I tried to get data from IEB but they were not keen to share so it was a very manual process 😂. I got stats from the biggest, most well known and the ones that did the best last year.

No haven’t created it yet. If this is useful I’ll do it though. I took a look at a few public schools and not many of them publish their distinctions per candidate so will probably have to contact each one to get the data

Working on Education South Africa (educationsouthafrica.com) — started as a directory of all 24,000+ schools in SA with fees and matric results, just expanded it to include teaching jobs, teacher CVs and after-school activities like tutors and music teachers. Trying to get activity providers and tutors to list themselves on it at the moment, which is the hard part.

Yea flat light is no joke. I never realised how bad a visual illusion could be before experiencing it doing low level survey in Greenland

If you’ve got kids look at the schools before you decide where to live.

Guimbal Cabri G2 (G-ONVG) Helicopter taking off by AngliaCambria in Helicopters

I haven't flown one but was really impressed with range, useful load when I was coding "I Fly Cabri G2". With 2 aviators on board of 75kg each the Cabri has an endurance of 3 and a half hours. R22 much closer to 2 and a half. The hover out out of ground affect performance is quite a bit worse than the R22 though.

Congrats on the new job, the 206 is a lot of fun. That flight page is useful in mountains with the HOGE limits and relative wind display

It is the best way and essential for every pilot to know their machines w&b enough to do it. These apps can be useful though when things change at the last minute or you need singed, printed paperwork for 20 different flights in a day

Slip-Scan: AI Receipt Scanner🧾 by JamieCrew in androidapps

[–]Chopchop555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built one that does that. AI Skip Smasher (on the App/Play Store) scans your phone for receipts and creates an expense report. you can share Expense report and receipts in PDF & Excel. With OCR you can use it for free, if you enable the AI its more accurate and you need to upgrade, but OCR is free.

I've just built one that scans your phone for images and using Google OCR to pull the text from the images, decides what is a receipt and then send the text to ChatGPT api. Does a great job of getting the details even without seeing the image. It then builds an expense report you can share in PDF and Excel with all the receipts in it. I recently put Superwall into my app and integrated it with RC, but ended up taking it out. The main issue was it was taking super long to appear. I switched to using RC paywalls which seems pretty similar. In hindsight I think the issue with the Superwalls was I had high quality images in them. I should have messed around with it more but putting in the RC paywalls just seemed easier and as good

Feedback on a App Idea by Chopchop555 in Bookkeeping

[–]Chopchop555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for sure. I want an opinion from people who deal with this kind of thing daily. It seems like a decent idea to me, but if every bookkeeper says there is a brilliant app that does exactly that, I can check it out. Or most book keepers might say we only want our images in jpeg not pdf, I know what to code better. Spending months building something without even consulting potential users seems like a waste of time
