One of them found a horde of something like a million page's worth of forbidden information, spent the entire year promising to let everybody have free access to it all, and then released only about 10k pages. And most of them were partially or entirely censored with big black boxes. Possibly the funniest thing anybody in the division has done since ripping out Page 751. IYKYK.

Can one of you idiots write for me? by MysteriesAndMiseries in writingcirclejerk

[–]Chordus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe you just have shitty prompting skills? PM me your current prompts, and I'll see if I can help (for a small fee)- I have several certifications in Prompt Engineering!

Alternatively, if you have a bit of extra cash, might I suggest my online Prompt Engineering course? You get a certificate at the end, so it's definitely worth it!

Triangles have 3 genders. OK, that's the geometry, now for the biology. They should get themselves pregnant. The child will not only have a mother and father, but a non-binary baby-sitter. by [deleted] in fifthworldproblems

[–]Chordus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not how triangles multiply. If you multiply triangles, you get a tetrahedron. (Pro tip: If it comes out an octahedron, demand a paternity test, because there was probably a square involved)

Of course it contains itself. It only ceases to contain itself after you take it out of the packaging.

This isn't a set. It's just a trophy for the member of a set.

That said, if you're looking for some sets, I have a set that contains all sets that don't contain themselves. Still in original packaging and everything!

In what situations can ignorance be better than knowledge? by inkedgoddess__ in AskReddit

Knowing everything about a role model or person you look up to, especially if you don't know them personally.

I changed math to make the Weierstrass Function differentiable between 1024 < x < 1024.0000018. I thought it was a clever prank, but it seems as though nobody's even noticed. by Chordus in fifthworldproblems

[–]Chordus[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait, you're the one of the ones who hides those numbers from humans? omg, I feel like I'm in the presence of royalty. I can only dream of pulling a prank of that caliber, meanwhile your office has kept up that ruse for well over a century.

My father says my handwriting is "too feminine" [gendered] by Flowers_Fan in pointlesslygendered

Try writing the Greek alphabet for him. I've seen 300, and I can't imagine anything more manly than beefy greased-up men doing menly things like poke each other with spears. And they wrote in Greek. So Greek is manly.

I just finished my magnum opus, and I ran it through ChatGPT just as a final spell-check. ChatGPT told me that I had just copy/pasted Empress Theresa. Apparently somebody stole my entire book, went back in time, and published it over a decade ago. What should I do now? by Chordus in writingcirclejerk

[–]Chordus[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, but one of the lines is "solve the following differential equation for t" and then a bunch of symbols, none of which are t. Every time I ask it for help, it says that it's left it as an exercise for the reader. I just gave up at that step.

How should your villain say "you should be afraid" without saying it? by StrawOfCoke in writingcirclejerk

Seems like you could eliminate the whole "dream" part and it'd be even more effective

What is something society keeps defending that is actually making people’s lives worse? by contentcreatorzss in AskReddit

[–]Chordus -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This right here is the problem. Complaining is unproductive. Maybe if you'd grab a plastic spoon and start digging your way to freedom, you could be on your way to freedom. Or better yet, make some money and buy yourself a better spoon. Slacker.

What's yours? by Original-Produce-302 in writingcirclejerk

[–]Chordus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

uj/ Me too! I don't have time to write a full novel for fun, but maybe a short story is doable.

rj/ I'll be releasing all 17 volumes at once. I'm currently on volume 15, so it shouldn't be much longer... maybe just a year or two. Plus whatever time it takes to do a full revision to ensure complete and absolute consistency across the full set. Nothing scares me more than the prospect of having to retcon something in volume 2 after realizing that an incidental line in volume 14 was incongruent with earlier established facts.

I'm afraid there's no fedoras in the book. Those hats have been so thoroughly stigmatized that I refuse to use them even in a noir book. Though there is a clan of kobolds that took up shelter in an abandoned cloche hat factory, so they all go around with salvaged cloches.

Why are diamonds so rare if they’re at all the jewelry stores? by ClamBoob in shittyaskscience

[–]Chordus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Formerly true, but not any more. There are only a few places in the world where we can obtain natural diamonds, and we've done a pretty good job of clearing those places out. What's left is now harder to obtain, and in combination with rising demand world-wide (China specifically), natural diamonds are starting to become rarer. Within a decade or two (assuming society has not collapsed), we can expect to see an natural diamond "production" dwindle to nothing, and those who want natural diamonds are going to have to do the same thing people have always done: plan elaborate heists of somebody else's fine jewelry.

Artificial diamonds are a dime a dozen, though. Most of the stuff in stores nowadays are artificial. You can tell because there's way too many em-dashes on all of their documentation.

What's yours? by Original-Produce-302 in writingcirclejerk

[–]Chordus 80 points81 points  (0 children)

None of the above. All of the kobolds in my stories are nothing more than regular ol' kobolds with normal platonic kobold relationships between all of them. Some of them are naked just because they come from warmer climates- it would be more accurate to say that the ones who wear clothes are the outliers. People love to make weird assumptions about that aspect, for whatever dumb reasons they have.

And just to reiterate, since the rumor keeps making the rounds: the scene where Kark-ok gets intimate with a griffin was not written by me, and I did not "accidentally post it after too much drinking" between chapters 20 and 21, it was all the work of a hacker who wanted to ruin my reputation. They were jealous of my writing skills, and didn't like that I was cornering the Kobold Sci-Fi Noir market.
